Trade Exception from Mihm trade

Post#1 » by Jajwanda » Fri Jul 3, 2009 11:55 pm

If you recall when we traded Mihm+cash to Memphis a while back, we gained a trade exception.

My question is can we use this 2.7m or so exception (I believe it was around there) to sign or re-sign a player such as Shannon Brown.

S and T I think we could do but I'm not even sure about that. Brown's case is an interesting one because I don't know if he has bird rights or if the exception applies to re-signings since we just used the MLE.

I think we have bird rights, so we don't need an exception to resign him.

We have his bird rights. Trade exceptions can only be used to bring back a player and can not be combined in any way.

Don't really need a great name of a PG to fulfill what we want. You want a guy that has handles, can make simple passes, shoot the three, play D, slash once in a while, a veteran to compliment Shannon's youth, and a guy who can play off-the ball.

Charlie Bell fit the bill? He's available...
