Pacers have contacted Shannon Brown
per wiretap
http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... ead_brown/
They'll mostly likely re-sign Jarrett Jack and make him the starting point guard and Brown could be their backup. They have been trying to trade TJ Ford. Could we work out a sign and trade of Brown, Morrison's expiring and draft picks for TJ Ford? Ford will making 8.5m in 2009 and has a 8.5m player option in 2010.

Re: Pacers have contacted Shannon Brown
I think they'd be looking at Brown as a SG. They already have TJ Ford and Deiner as PGs in addition to Jack, but just lost Marquis Daniels so Brandon Rush is the only true SG on the roster (they have Dunleavy play some SG too but he's not really a Deuce).

Re: Pacers have contacted Shannon Brown
TJ Ford would be a really nice edition to the team, especially since he can play the fast paced offense we like to run, but if we wanna trade for him we should do it asap. If we lose Shannon brown then we really don't have a pg who can guard pg's like chanucy billiups or deron williams and that's what we need shannon brown for. But I would like to see ford as a laker. If we could get him for farmar, ammo, and a pick that would be great. I would like to keep shannon brown. But I would still do it if we can get for ammo, brown and a pick or another filler. If we get him i would like him to work on 3 point shooting that's what he lacks, and work on defense. But Ford is injury prone and has bad neck plus bad back. If he could stay healthy and we can get him for ammo, farmar/brown plus filler that would be a great edition to the team. I would like to see him in a laker uniform.

Yes Ford is a talent, but his injury history is scary - I mean life scary not just basketball scary.
and there must be something wrong chemistry wise with him because he has been, despite being a better talent than his competition, the odd-man-out at every stop... Toronto, Milwaukee, and Indy... that doesn't sit well with me.

Re: Pacers have contacted Shannon Brown
Pacers would want Farmar in that deal since they wouldn't have a backup point guard. Brown is a shooting guard.
Something like Brown, Farmar, and draft picks would be the initial offer.

pacers have Travis Diener as a back up pg so they really would not want farmar and they still have Jamaal Tinsley under contract and they prolly would use brown as back up pg since at sg they got Danny Granger and Brandon Rush unless one becomes a sf to back up Mike Dunleavy.

It's very strange that Ford has been the odd man out on those teams. Milwaukee traded him because of Mo Williams, Toronto traded him because of Jose Calderon, and now Indiana will trade him because of Jarrett Jack.

Re: Pacers have contacted Shannon Brown
Ford has the same problem as Farmar, too small, bad jumpers, tunnel vision, and very suspect defense to start on a good team. He's a better penetrator than Farmar, but he's not going to be an upgrade over anything else.
I am more down with trading for Bell if the Bucks are still interested in shredding contracts.

I actually like shannon.. I like his spark and vertical dunks lol.
I hope we can keep him. Not sure about tj though... i rather save that $$$ to give shannon a descent contract to stay with us.

I was always a supporter of TJ in Toronto. Always liked him.. but for some reason I don't want to see him on this Lakers team.

Re: Pacers have contacted Shannon Brown
TJ is simply too expensive for the Lakers. Getting TJ means Lamar is gone and that is something none of us want to see.

Re: Pacers have contacted Shannon Brown
All the Pacers have to do is offer Shannon $3 million per season and he's gone. Lakers aren't going to pay Shannon anything above $2 million.
What a shame we're paying Morrison $5 million per, Walton $5 million per, Vujacic $5 million per.
Kupchack is incredibly stupid for wasting so much money on Radmanovic (who became Morrison), Walton and Vujacic.

Re: Pacers have contacted Shannon Brown
Shannon will come back. He loves being on this team. He had been a fan favorite because of the Lakers. I'm sure he's not gonna leave. I love TJ as a player but he's another scorer type and I'm just looking for a role player who could step up in games.

Luckily, his agent is not some dumba** named David Lee. I think this kid is happy to take the offer the Lakers give and will either make "the machine" find his shot or find the end of the bench

We have to keep Brown. He is a key defender and helps us matchup with some of the guards in the West like Billups and Williams.
