Yeah, I'm starting to like this move more and more. I liked it right from the beginning, but people make too much out of that whole Detroit brawl. Even Kobe said that the other day.

He is crazy.. but of all the places in the NBA, Los Angeles is the best fit for it. And we've lacking personality on our team for a long time, outside of Lamar Odom. It's good to have Artest join the fold.

Couldn't agree more. People love to refer back to that, but the fact is Artest has behaved himself in recent years (at least on the court).

The other thing that haters and nay-sayers love to bring up is Artest being prone to ball-dominant over-dribbling and chucking. History has shown that he only resorts to this when he's THE go-to guy on a team. That will never be the case here. He'll always be behind Kobe and Pau and situationally behind Drew and (hopefully, if he comes back) LO in terms of offensive option pecking order.

Ron has also shown that he's more than happy to take a back-seat if it leads to team success. Remember, he willingly came off the bench for Houston early this year when both T-Mac and Yao were healthy.

Now let's re-up LO and get this party started!!!

Nice find. Thanks for posting. I think we're going to see the most Laker soundbites this year since the end of the Shaq era.

I think the Lakers need to offer Odom at least 3 years 24 million but Artest had no ties to the Lakers and he took a 3 year 18 million dollar deal. Odom promised for years he would take less to play with us and now look when it comes down to it him and the fo has the fans freaking out or at least me.

Odom won us a championship and stepped in and got us to the finals the year before so basketball wise when I used to diss him I was wrong. Basketball wise he is our 4th best player and we need him to win a championship in the deep East and West.

As for players though my favorite players are

Kobe/Artest
Gasol

then unless Odom agrees on a contract I don't know were he stands. If he signs for less he is right up there right under Gasol but if he drags this out after saying he will take less I will be so disapointed in both Buss and him.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
