1st 97 page odom thread click here

two completely opposite reports are the latest we've heard concerning LO:

http://blacksportsonline.com/index/2009 ... to-re.html

Once again sources close to Lamar Odom are insisting a deal is done and is just waiting for Dr. Buss to sign off on it.

There has been reports there is no deal on the table and there are no neogiations ongoing.

But there was in fact a 3 year deal worth 30 million that was turned down Odom recently.

The only hold up is will Dr. Buss sign off on 4 year deal or will Odom accept 3 year deal.

We will have to wait and see how it all shakes out, but I would be shocked if Lamar Odom is does not resign with the Lakers.

http://stevemasonsmog.typepad.com/john_ ... -odom.html
he best offer the Lakers had previously offered was Odom was for four years, $36 million. But the fourth year was a team option, that the Lakers had to either exercise, or buy Lamar out for $3 million. That means Odom turned down a guaranteed three year, $30 million contract.

That offer is no longer on the table, nor is any offer from the Lakers. I'm told that if Lamar called the team today and said he would accept these terms, he would most likely be told that the offer is no longer available. Again, this is my opinion based on multiple conversations. I have not spoken directly to Mitch Kupchak or Jerry Buss. If Lamar and Dr. Buss got together over dinner, maybe that original offer could resurface, but I'm told that's highly unlikely.

By the way, the perception that Odom's agent, Jeff Schwartz, has been making this worse isn't necessarily true. I've had two different people tell me that Schwartz is a solid agent who has taken every offer seriously, and advised Lamar to do the same. I had one guy who told me, "I'm pretty sure Jeff advised him to take the deal...it's always the client's call."-I said yesterday that I thought the percentage chance of Lamar returning to the Lakers was 70%. Everybody I talked to today said my number was too high, and "it's more like 50/50." I still think it's more than that, but not much.

3 for 30mil is a great deal for odom. if it turns out that he turned that down, i wouldn't put anything negative on the lakers organization.......................and odom goes back to being odumb

if he gets 4 for 40..................which i think is a completely bunk rumor..................i think he's a genius and the lakers overpaid.............not my money though

What im asking is, how did Lamar meet up in Vegas with Buss (according to BSO), if Buss has been in Hawaii out on vacation?

I went all over a lot of sites and not one is reporting anything. So for now I bet this is just some false info. Even the local LA news has nothing on a LO deal.

BSO has pulled the "Odom Signs 4/40" report off the blog
http://www.blacksportsonline.com/index/index.html

the page can still be accessed through this url though:
http://blacksportsonline.com/index/2009 ... .html#more

my bet is that if odom eventually does sign, the post will magically reappear together with a big bucket of "I told you so"

its still in the 1st link, just scroll down. he's said repeatedly in the comments of the article and through his twitter page that he stands by his report and isn't concerned with contradicting reports.

I'm not sure how credible this really is. If his boys were to leak the news I bet atleast the LA writers would confirm that. My feeling is that he's really pondering the opportunity to play a bigger role in Miami than he'd do here behind Bynum and Gasol.

until otherwise confirmed, i'll take irelands word for it. and those comments are EYE OPENING! dude was offered big money, AND LAMAR TURNED IT DOWN, and buss took it off the table. hate to say it, but that sounds up to par. 30mil aint nothin to sneeze at, but yet lamar disrespects an offer like that?? buss stood his ground, especially when nobody is gettin close to those numbers in dollars

Why was the other tread locked? It was posed to go well over 100 pages before Lamar signs anywhere.

Laker fans, if you get Lamar, congrats on another championship. If you don't, you're still probably the odds-on favorite (I've got Orlando as the next best competitor).

In other words, you're stacked either way :P. Seriously though, that Magic lineup is gonna be sick next year...
