http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... h0729.htmlYou know what? I enjoy life too much to look back a lot," Nash said of the past five years. "I have too much to look forward to each day, too much left to accomplish and work for. Yeah, it's a shame and it hurts, if I take a minute to stop and think about it. But I don't really have any regrets, and I look forward to continuing to improve and being part of a great environment and a great team."
That isn't exactly true. Occasionally, Nash can get bitter, just like the rest of us: "No one gave us Pau Gasol for nothing," he said.

http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... sol_trade/Nashty you are having a fantastic career, but dude maybe you should have asked to see the financials before you signed at 12:00:01 via DAL bolting and PHX signing the second FA opened up. Come to think of it DAL f'd up with Nashty & Harris. Nashty should have stayed right where he was. He was the first FA signing that year I remember it vividly.
Damn dcash is on point like he's getting paid, shi* cut & pasted and moved from open to around the nba thread faster then Nash signed that first PHX contract.

Totally...
"Wah, wah, wah, I can't find a way to win...
"Wah, wah, I'm a LOSER..."
I used to respect Nash and his game, but this is like the third or 4th time he's commented on the Gasol trade... Winners, win... It doesn't matter what they face... Losers find excuses.

He enjoys life to much to look back, but he does so anyway.

Little candadian prick, even of someone gave you Pau, you couldn't win a championship with him Amare, and your lame squad, you had your shot, and blew it, now move along eh?

by what would jack bauer do?
rudy fernandez, rajon rondo, marcin gortat, nate robinson, sergio rodriquez........ I think phx passed on all them and I bet there's probably a couple I'm missing. THEY WOULD ALL BE ON ROOKIE CONTRACTS.
trust me nash you had enough star power with yourself, Amare, Marion, and Barbosa. You really shouldn't complain when the person to blame is your cheap owner. You had the stars and you passed on some great role players that would play good on both ends like rondo, gortat, and robinson.

Very uncharacteristic comment from him. He is usually classy.
Maybe the pressure of not winning despite having the likes of Amare, Shaq, and Marion is getting to him. He will go down as one of the greatest point guards of all time not to have won a title.
Ouch...

when I say rookie contracts I know a couple of those guys are free agents now... but just sayin the past couple years you would've had some CHEAP help after that shaq trade

Perhaps Nash should look to his own ownership for answers. After all, if they had the huevos to deal a 9 mil expiring, the equivalent of 4 firsts, and oh, let's not forget, the Sixers assistant scout or shooting coach or whatever McKie was at the moment, then maybe they'd have a better team now. Creativity and guts to pull the trigger is what wins.
Phx was too busy worrying about their Matrix sitch for 8 months that they were paralyzed to make the right deal until it was too late and all they could get was the Big Cap Killer in return. Look internally for your regrets Lil Stevie.

last season
Pau scored 19 pts 10 rebounds and Marc scored 12 pts and got 8 rebounds
Pau played 37 mins per game, Marc played 30 mins per game
Pau is 29, to old for a team that is trying to rebuild, while Marc is younger and is 24 years old
if i am not mistaken, with Kwame's expiring contract, the Memphis increased cap space by 9 to10 million dollars
they also got some expiring money from Aron Mckie

thats the difference between "us" as the phoenix franchise, AND THE LAKER ORGANIZATION!
we hang banners and move the deals to get us towards the goal.
phoenix is in "firesale" mode and does not have that same commitment.
thats why players want to come to LA.

Well he could come here for nothing and win a title too. Kobe is a very generous dude.

The Suns have made more poor-value trades to save money than any team in the league (including Memphis) so I guess I can understand his frustration

This is always overlooked because Memphis, as a team, doesn't have much success. What was Memphis accomplishing with Pau Gasol as the man? Pretty much nothing. The only reason that everyone bitches about us getting Gasol is because it's the Lakers and people love seeing the Lakers fail. Yes, we got the better end of the deal. Someone has to. BUT, all this talk about us getting Gasol for nothing is way out of line.
In 06-07 the Grizzlies went 22-60, largely because Gasol missed 23 games. In 07-08 they went 13-33 before he was traded, and again, he missed time due to injury. So basically, Memphis was going absolutely no where with their injury-plagued franchise/max player. Why would they want to continue paying that much money to a player when their team as a whole completely sucks?
Looking back at the trade, I think they made the right decision and it was a good trade for them. They received two expirings in Kwame and McKie that helped them save money. They have a young center in Marc Gasol who I think had an impressive rookie season and managed to play all 82 games -- something that his brother has done only twice in his career. He's going to have a nice career if he's surrounded by the right players. They received Crittenton (a nice prospect and player we all liked) who eventually turned into a 1st round pick.
Anyway, the point is that at the end of the day the Grizzlies were looking to shed salary and go in a different direction and they've done that. Right now they have some nice young pieces to work with in Gasol/Thabeet @C, Mayo/Conley @G, and Randolph/Gay @F. IMO they have set themselves up nicely and if they land a player such as Wade or LeBron they are going to be dangerous as hell.

Nash always was a major vag. I'm happy that people are finally starting to realize that his career has not been better than Kidd's though.

Nash is a drama queen and he hasn't achieved ish, and he will never achieve ish. He's just butt hurt that he has one of the most dumbest G.Ms in basketball history and his team will never get out of lottery or advance past the second round. Whos fault is that? Ours.
Pop did the samething and look at what they got R.J for.......... Nothing.... Do you hear us crying or complaining. NOT AT ALL. But I bet you if we got R.J and gave up nothing, our board would be packed with poster crying and complaining.
