Now who had the best summer?

Do we still think it's the Spurs, Cavs or any others?
I consider Artest a better pickup then RJ. I know Im the RJ guy but even I know Artest is better. I would turn down RJ for Artest in a heartbeat. I think getting Artest is better then Shaq but they did get Moon and Parker to.
Marion and now Gooden is pretty nice.
So who is the biggest winner this summer?
With Odom staying I vote us with the Artest trade/signing.

So far Transformers has, but I wouldn't count out Harry Potter. I'm pulling for Potter to win, Michael Bay pretty much screwed w/ my childhood with transformers....

The only thing I can think of that would make this summer better would be, if the realgm Lakers board could trade posters to another board.
I've looked on the trade checker and this deal seems really great:
We trade Dexmor/star24 and his massive posting ability for cash considerations and a future poster on the Charlotte board.
The realgm Lakers board would gain benefits including posts with less conjecture and an overall decline in posts based on bad business decisions.
The Charlotte board would gain a much needed poster to create topics so people don't get bored when they have run out of Tyson Chandler posts to write about.
I kid I kid...or do I...it really would be a win win situation.

Orlando first then the Lakers ... but we're still better.
Orlando made some really shrewd economical moves. I love their nine man rotation:
PG - Nelson - Johnson
SG - Carter
C - Howard - Gortat
PF - Lewis - Bass
SF - Pietrus - Barnes

First off to all the people that just insulted me, to mean. That was kind of harsh. Im not that bad. I know I go a little nuts sometimes but please ease up.
Yes Artest makes me say screw RJ. I really hate the Spurs. I tried not to but I really hate them. Hes gone to the dark side and i love Artest. I think Artest with Kobe is a much better combo anyway. I think Artest does alot more for Kobe then RJ ever could. Spurs got Blair to but I still like Artest better then both.
Orlando did get better but do you really think they did better then the Cavs? Cavs added Shaq, Moon, Parker. Parker and Moon are Lebron's defense and the got a post presence.

I'm pretty certain the experiment of Lewis at PF is done. He'll play SF, Carter SG and Bass might start, which leaves them very susceptible in the frontcourt again.

Sofia I wasnt talking to you about the to harsh thing I was talking to you when I said yes Artest over RJ.
Of course I remember those. Those were the times. See i never actually posted Artest threads like I did RJ but really thats partly cause I thought Artest was to unrealistic. i never dreamed we would have all of them.
Those were the good/bad times. The innocent times. I was always at work back then when I posted. As you might of guessed I got fired twice.

How does having Bass/Lewis/Howard leave them susceptible in the frontcourt? To me they have one of the most dangerous frontcourts in the League. Brandon Bass is good.

i thought Harry Potter was great, but there is no way that breaks $350 million, getting over 300 will be tough
Tranformers is most likely going to run away with it this summer

I think they will continue to start Rashard Lewis at the four with Bass as a backup and playing alongside him as well.
They had tremendous success with Howard as the centerpiece surrounded by stone cold shooters.
The Bass signing, IMO, was a shrewd move to bring in a brute PF off the bench.

Bass as a bench player is good. Bass as a starter will get eaten live by good teams.

Bass is a very good shooter though. He's not just a beast he is a lights out shooter from 18 feet and in so they just have to make the adjustment having him move in a little. I doubt Bass doesn't start.

lol.. what I win? anyways I dunno about who had the best summer... I'm just looking forward to next season.
I appreciated Shaq and everything for the 3peat, but it would annoy the heck out of me that he'd come into preseason and early season out of shape. That that team seemed to think they could waltz through the season and flip a switch and win a title.
I like how losing to the celtics put a bad taste in their mouth. I just hope this Kobe led team is still hungry. I doubt that is an issue because I really don't think there has ever been an NBA player as hungry to win as Kobe. Not even Michael... Yea I said it.. He walked away and played minor league baseball. It was after his dad passed and that is traumatic... but I don't think Kobe would walk away in that situation. But hey I could be wrong.
I'm looking for Kobe to cement his legacy with two things:
1. Defensive Player of the Year.
2. Leading a laker squad of 70+ games.
1. DYOP is one trophy missing from Kobe's case... with the addition of Artest being on the other teams best player, that allows Kobe to slack a little and play centerfield in the passing lanes, perhaps come quick on the double, or need be play 1v1 defense on the other teams star player. It's a different era, I'd like to see how Jordan could have played now w/o the hand check and vice versa. Still to me Jordan > Kobe on defense. If Kobe does up his effort on defense, that would help w/ #2.
2. 70+ wins. Phil pretty much laid out the challenge this past season. He politely gave the Bulls an advantage to being a central team and not having the time zone difference. a 70+ win topped off with a NBA championship would vault this team into the elite of Lakers if not NBA championship teams. You know Kobe would salivate at that challenge. Barring injury I believe they could have done it last season had not Bynum, Ariza and Farmar (IMO) gone down with injuries.
That said, being favorites to win it all again this season, the lakers need another challenge to stay hungry and not fall into the "we can flip that switch" mentality in the playoffs that the shaq/kobe era had. I think it's a harder sell because this team is younger that that dynasty, but they have two of the best in Kobe and Phil to motivate the team.

That totally went over my head. Are you laughing at me or Sofia King? Sofia's good people so I hope it's me or something else. Speaking of remembering though do you remember how much you guys really hated me 2 years ago? You would probably of killed me if you could of.
