The more playing time he gets the better. It is like a summer league for him.

This is good to hear. Maybe DJ can get more playtime this season so that Gasol doesn't have to play center so much.

Is not first time that DJ play fore national Belgium team, last time was 2 years ago!

Mbenga was born in and raised in Zaire, now known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where his father was a government employee. When a new regime took over power, it sought everyone who worked for the previous leader. As unrest in the country escalated, Mbenga's father was imprisoned. Although he was eventually unable to save himself, he did manage to negotiate on behalf of his sons, who were also imprisoned and waiting to be executed. Mbenga fled the country on a plane to Belgium, where he received asylum. While living in a refugee center, he was discovered by Belgian basketball legend Willy Steveniers, who eventually served as Mbenga's personal basketball mentor.[

Anyone remember the sick dunks and blocks he had this season? He comes out there with energy, and does things with emphasis.

DJ earned his keep with that 3 min first qtr stretch in pivotal game 4 of the Finals:

Rotated to out to Battie to causing a brick near air ball
Jumped into the pnr lane causing Howard to throw the ball in the crowd
Swatted Alston, saved on the sideline and up to Kobe who hit a jumper
No fouls committed
Played for 2 minutes with the infamous Luke, Powell, DJ, frontline

Most importantly- Zero pts for Howard.

Earned his 2009 slot and his 900k with that one, as the game was kept in reach (4 pts) while Bynum, Gasol and Odom sat the bench with 2 fouls each.

He's the only one though. I wish Kobe and Gasol didn't play in the olympics.
Hope Ron isn't invited either
