KAJ wants to be a head coach

ESPN story on who will replace Phil & I c that alot of u think I would be a good choice. I would have to agree with my fans. My experience in coaching has not allowed me 2 be a front runner but if someone would have the faith in me I am sure I could deliver. I have not been given an opportunity as as a head coach so maybe a groundswell of support from my fans could open a door for me!
I think my fans know that I am usually quiet unless I have something to say so I'm saying it. I would do a good job as a head coach if given the chance. I'm absolutely sure of that. If people want to find out what I am sitting on in terms of basketball knowledge maybe I'll get a shot at a head coaching position.

I could see him doing what Rambis did last year. Give him a shot to be on the real staff.

I vote for KAJ to be addded on to the coaching staff, tho i don't think we're gonna add anyone else.

didn't KAJ missed a lot of games because of migrane headaches when he was a player? wouldn't want a coach missing games all the time.

Ya he has actually been bitter about nobody in the league has been giving him a chance to coach.
They did a segment on this when he was an assistant basketball coach at the White Mountain Apaches, a Apache high school team in Whiteriver, Arizona.

It seems alot of players don't get chances. Some are considered blacklisted like Rick Barry. Anybody know why?

There is no reason why he shouldn't get a shot. Rambis is gone, let him join the staff as an assistant. Give him a realistic opportunity to compete for the Head Coaching job with B Shaw and B Scott. By the time the new coach takes the reigns we will be a rebuilding project anyway. Phil won't leave as long as we are contending.

I wonder if he's too much of an introvert to coach. Although people could argue Phil uses a similar approach. I would give him a shot though. I wonder what he would implement...

I wouldn't give him a shot. He's a little too old IMO. I'd much rather have Shaw who is a players coach and everyone respects him. The last leader you want is someone who watches his followers collapse without saying anything.
I wouldn't mind if he became an assistant coach since he's so knowledgeable.

Kareem might have a similar attitude to Phil when it comes to coaching with a laid back, assured approach while letting his players make decisions on the court. Thats just my observation though and he must be given an opportunity to coach the D-fenders or be a full assistant coach on Phil's staffing.

No he didn't miss a lot of games due to migraine headaches. And what would your definition of a "lot" mean in this case ?

DEEP, I was expecting you to comment thoroughly on this thread.
I think KAJ's got what it takes to do a good job as a head coach.
I think you're more qualified as a bball fan than me to give a better response on this subject/thread so I'll be checking for this thread later.
I heard via an
ABC interview that one of the reasons why he was snubbed was b/c of his resume and personality.
Politics.

I'm re-posting a post of mine that I made earlier. (edited, to correct bolds and underlines)
Phil's got health problems; hips, back, etc.
So that's a moot point anyways.
I wouldn't of addressed the coaching issue (in the first place, and have continued to address the issue) if Phil was a healthy, young, successful, and accomplished coach WITHOUT
"health problems" that could effect the head coaching job demands of a 82 games per a season, including playoffs, all-star games, training camp, etc.
I've been concerned about him and our head coaching situation for a couple of years now.
He's been through surgeries within the past few years, having operations done on his hips* most recently.
*Verbal Disclaimer: I'm not 100% sure if it was his hips that had surgery done most recently so I'll have to check on it...

I will but first I just want to see how guys are seeing the situation. Most of what I've seen so far is redundant responses.

as part of the coaching staff yes but as a coach.. not so.
Reason being is although you need a high IQ of the game, you also need the mindset and voice to control your players and control yourself when it matters. KAJ BBALL IQ is off the charts but im not too sure about his mindset, communication with the players and control is there. imo
But if he wants endorsements.. he needs Bynum to back him up since he's the kid project that he's been working on...

getting ON the coaching staff would be a great start for him.
I think he's currently a consultant/"special assistant coach" for the Lakers.
If KAJ is looking to be the head coach then I guess he'd be in the race for the throne.
But I think he just wants a chance at the job when it's available.
Hall of Fame players can do well as head coach.
IE: Isaiah Thomas, and Larry Bird come to mind.

Here's the breakdown:
1) Santa = Head Coach
2) Elves = Assistant Coaches
If KAJ gets on, he'd be under the head coaches' command.
Does he want to?
That might not be what he wants at the moment.
A newb like myself would jump at the opportunity and would probably do it for free.
It aint about the money.
