http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=13628http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=13636 That is fantastic. If one of us put them both that high we would be homers but apparently we are that good.
We know if Bynum beasts it up he is going in the top 5 at his position of Kobe is #1 at his.

Thanks for the link. Kobe and Artest are the Top 5 for their respective positions, shooting guard and small forward. Pau Gasol is a Top 5 player for Power Forward or Center. Our lineup is deeeeeep.

Bynum could be top 5 if healthy
Gasol is top 5
Artest top 5
Kobe top 5
Odom was even honarable mention.
Thing is if Duncan and KG decline a decent amount Gasol could possibly be arguably #1.

eh, artest has no business over someone like granger, durant, or a healthy caron.

You're right about Durant, but Caron's health is always a big "if" and I would take Artest over Granger any day of the week. Artest may be an inefficient offensive player, but Granger's defense is highly suspect. I'd rather have the defensive stalwart Artest over the offensive arsenal in Granger.

Granger defense is incedible. He guards 3 positions and I would say he gives Lebron problems as much as anybody. Granger is the most underrated player in the league.
Notice they said Gasol has a KG like mean streak. We are really tough now with Gasol-Kobe-Ron being our core.

IMHO, I'd still say Granger's defense is overrated. He's a great leader, great scorer, but I wouldn't say he's Top 5 at his position for defense. This dates back to two years at New Mexico, when I watched the Lobos while my brother was attending (2005 alum). He's a solid perimeter defender and does contest shots, but he gambles for steals a little too often and gives up some bad fouls when he's guarding other forwards. People say his rebounding is pretty good, but I'd point out he didn't even crack the Top 10 for rebounding at his position except in the 2007-2008 NBA season. I guess the biggest thing is that even though he's very athletic and has a lot of muscle for his position, he gets burned pretty bad by the more speedier small forwards.
I have to say I haven't watched Granger's games in the past couple of years. But I guess I am a little biased because I've seen him play since his junior year in college... and because he's a Lobo.

Yeah he must of really improved his D because I watched him in college to which is why I alsmot had a heart attack when we passed on him and his D has gotten way better. He is 6'8 and long and has the lateral quickness to guard the sg's as he did play sg for a year or 2 and he does a fantastic jobs on the 3's and can give you minutes at the 4.
He can also play point forward.

Healthy Caron, Healthy McGrady, Healthy G. Wallace... all oxymorons. They are all extremely talented when healthy. But these past several seasons these players all have been unfortunately cursed with the injury bug.

Gasol is def. top 5, not Artest though IMO. My rankings for SF would be:
1. LBJ
2. Melo
3. Pierce
4. Durant
5. Granger
And the Shooting guard list is wrong. Where's Brandon Roy?

Like you guys said, Caron is a different level from Ron Artest in terms of offense and though not as accomplished, he's a solid defender too.

I take a healthy Artest over a healthy Caron anyday. You have to look at Artests numbers in 07-08 when he was healthy and on top of that insane D he was still a 20 point a game scorer.
Plus he can handle and pass better then Caron being able to play point forward.

"incredible", missed the r the first time, replaced the i with an a the second time
anyhoo, im not sure why they wont include other plays capable of playing the SF position
tbh, kobe, roy would make the top 5 in SF as well

You're right Luffy. Granger is mostly offense & has shown to be streaky with his shooting at times. Don't get me wrong, he's a helluva offensive player but his defense is suspect at best. I don't understand how these guys are being mentioned over Artest at all. Artest averaged 17.1 PPG last season & that was down from his previous 2 seasons, so he is very efficient offensively if he is needed. I don't think there's a better defensive SF in the league including LBJ.
