"A long time ago, a year ago or something like that, I was looking for John Green, the guy who threw beer at me in Detroit. And, I was talking to Dave, and I'm like, 'Yo, we need to find this guy and interview him,' and my team, my personal business management team, they got real nervous, like, 'Don't do it. It's only gonna 'cause controversy ...'

So, after a couple years, I'm like, 'People would love to see me talk with John Green after all these years ...' It won't be crazy, it'll be historical, and it'll be something for people to understand when you fight with one another, you can always become friends, you don't have to hold a grudge for the remainder of your life ...

So, I found him, through my Twitter friends, I had a [tweet] saying, 'I need to find John Green's number. Anybody who can help me find John Green's number, I can take you to lunch.' So, one guy helped me find it ...

So, I called John Green's house and I say, 'Excuse me, ma'am, can I speak to John's please?'

She says, 'Who's this?'

I said, 'Ron.'

'Ron who?'

I said, 'Ron Artest.'

She says, 'No! You can't be serious ...'

Then, I spoke with John, and me and John spoke like we knew each other.

I said, 'Hey, John, what's up?'

He said, 'Hey, Ron, how you doing?'

It was like immediately we kinda vibed ... So people are gonna have a chance to see, we're actually gonna come on Dave's show and do a live interview for the world to hear, the first time Ron and John speak. It was a great conversation, all we were talking about was ways to reach out to inner-city kids and even suburban kids ..."

Good find dcash, see this I why I get pissed when people say Ron is "nuts" and "crazy".......no Ron is smart. That a really cool story man, I'm proud of Ron because it shows he's maturing and growing up. This further solidifies why it right to get him.

+1

You don't know how much we put up with the misconceptions and inaccuracies about Artest when he was with the Kings since early (Jan) 2006. 3+ seasons of misinformation and ignorance. Artest's problems are very very overblown. And Sacramento being a semi-small market, people just rely on popular opinion. I followed Artest closely for over five years and I don't know what other player carries such fabricated status of a lunatic, psycho, cancer individual.

Artest may say things that he should keep to himself but he is far from a thug-like individual.

Props to Ron.

Homeboy (Green) did get screwed for his part, I think he was convicted of misdemeanor assault for punching Artest and got 30 days in jail and two years probation and mandated to attend AA meetings and anger management counseling plus he got jacked for $500 fine. DUMB ASS.
Oh and he got banned from watching and Detroit home games FOR LIFE.

This is good news. Seems like hes matured and put that whole incident behind him for good. Maybe this will be the Ron Artest we will see during his time as a Laker.

Ron seems like a cool accessible kinda guy. If he needs attention badly, he'll get it in LA and the NBA thrives on LA drama, so win win.

I just don't want to see him on Melrose Place *sneers at Rick Fox*

The funniest part about that brawl was at the end when Artest came down and the two little middle eastern looking trolls come running up and Ron just CLOCKS the guy and knocks his ass down and then Jermaine O'neill comes right behind Ron and RECLOCKS homeboy AGAIN........

David Harrison a 7 footer knocked out an old man during that brawl. He was young but that was freaking nuts.
