don't know if its at the same gym, but kobe has them all beat

http://lakers.freedomblogging.com/2009/ ... gym/22073/

All I can say is thank goodness for Ron Artest. He quickly has become the eyes and ears of Lakers fans via Twitter.

He reported Thursday that he arrived at the gym early, early in the morning for a hard workout, but once inside, he discovered he wasn’t alone.

“3rd workout done. Let me tell why I LOVE KOBE “JELLY BEAN”BRYANT! I Get to the gym at 6:45,the Black Mamba gets there at 5:30! Go Lakers!!!”

Apparenlty Bryant, too, is eager for the season. Aren’t we all?

Seriously...

What I found interesting from the Shelden Williams twitter or whatever it was is that Cuttino was playing?!

I wonder what the whole deal with his "injury" is...

Is it the heart condition you are talking about? Mike Dunleavy said that its not an impediment to him playing in the league so i assume he's alright.

That is why I expect him to play til 38 at a very high level.
This is why I have him up there with M.J. even though I get ripped a new one everytime I go there.

Dexmor wrote:No offense but you guys didn't know this? Kobe is famous for his 5;30 workouts. When he was in h.s. he would do that and that is part of what got him so hyped his work ethic.
Even when he had the interview with Steven A Smith it was at 9:30 and he was winded and Steven A asked him about his workout and he said he just got done working out and was since 5;30. I thought he was famous for 5:30.

what are you talking about dexmor? did you even read people's replies? "kobe being kobe", yeah, that screams "didn't know". everyone knows about kobe's work ethic, its just exciting to hear that he's already started, especially coming from the newest player who he himself is starting to get those early workouts in. no offense but question people about the bobcats or something, not kobe freaking bryant.

I know people here know about Kobe's work ethic. Everybody knows that. I thought people were surprised at the 5:30 thing. If I was wrong and you guys all knew then I am sorry. Bringing up the Bobcats? Did I sound like that much of a snob? Im sorry I will edit my post.

He's not injured. He has a heart condition that means he could drop dead at any moment during stressful activity, so no insurance will cover him and he's just taking his own chances.

I commend you for your work ethic it takes a lot of self drive and will to continuously bust your butt, especially if your sole goal is to stay in good shape.

But do you outwork Kobe Bryant??? If so your motivation has the ability to take you far in life and become very successful.

Things that set Kobe apart from the rest from what I have read, heard, and believe:
1. The dude has probably a 100 million dollars chilling in his bank account.
2. 4 championship rings, MVP etc.
3. Wife, kids, good family life
4. Recognized as one of the best players in history to play the game of basketball.
5. Also consider his dad was pro baller so his family was wealthy when he was young

but till this day he maintains a determined and relentless desire to be the best
1. Countless hours playing by himself, emulating moves he learned from studying tape even though he was a rich kid
2. In high school asked janitor for keys to gym so he could practice.
3. After air balling two shots against Jazz in the playoffs, went to a high school to practice the same shots.
3. Has midnight workout sessions, (dude doesn't sleep much)
4. Watches tape in hotel, in his car to game, studies scouting reports through the night etc.
5. Put 15-20 pounds of muscle on during offseason (2003 I think, not an easy thing to do)
6. Even at age 30 he finishes first in all sprints that he participates in during training camp and practices, edging out farmar, just so nobody beats him.
7. On game days has intense workouts maybe more than 1 I forgot (espn article), and then takes ice bath, before heading to staples.

This probably isn't enough to comprehend the work that goes into becoming the player he is. The multiple facets of the game he practices hour on end, dribbling, defensive stance, bank shots, shooting release, quick release, fadeaway, post moves etc.

There is a reason he has the fewest weaknesses in his game compared to all players. He is a different breed of human, seen every couple decades. So you probably have 98-99% of the world beat with how hard you may work but kobe is probably in the top .001%.

I am a huge Kobe fan so all these facts come from the articles, interviews, biography, videos, and stories told by people on tv or radio stations that I have heard or read from 1996 to present. I might be able to dig up the references for some particular facts, but it would take awhile.
