Andrew, where are you?

Is it me or has it been really quiet on the Andrew Bynum front?

Is he in the gym? Did he ever make good on the idea of working out with Orlando’s Dwight Howard over the summer? Is his knee OK?

What shape is he in? Has he improved his quickness? Does he have a shot at being an All-Star this season?

Bynum’s silence is baffling. He doesn’t tweet, update his website or write anything on Facebook, so there’s no telling what he’s been up to this summer. There hasn’t even been any rumors of his workouts/clubbing/love love posted anywhere. Plus, his trainer hasn’t returned numerous calls.

What’s up with that? Hopefully, Bynum has been working hard and having fun and Lakers fans will be greatly surprised when he shows up for training camp at the end of the month.

Ive been saying this for a while now. Where is this dude? Bynum is the key. I hope he's bustin his butt working out.

that whole howard thing was taken way too seriously. howard has been traveling around promoting crap. he doesn't have time to workout with bynum on a consistent basis. may be he gave him a few pointers here or there.

i like the silence though. any news that involuntarily gets out is usually bad news, so silence means he's not doing anything he's not suppose to, or at least anything that would make him look bad. i wish he'd update the fans though, but the silence is good imo. he's ready to surprise everyone, realized that talk is cheap. i think the only news about him has been visiting the ferrari plant.

I hope your right. Some/Most Laker fans are desperately hoping this guy has a breakout year. He has the tools to do it. If he can get those little bunnies in the lane to fall like he had going a couple years ago I think we'll be in a good position.

I feel ya on this one Dcash. For a long time I have been a supporter for Drew. I want to see him turn into an All Star and play at an All Star level consistently. As a Laker fan it would be great to see Drew turn into the face of the franchise and lead his team to championships just like Kobe, Shaq, Magic, and all the others have before.

Not hearing any news on him isn't what I was hoping for but I think he is working his ass off to get stronger, quicker, conditioned, and more skilled and once the season starts I think a lot of people will be surprised. When Drew gets things together this Lakers team will be very hard to beat.

His NBA goes over the 10 million mark. He better be working is butt off and paying the right people to get him in shape, getting the right cooks to get his diet right and getting all the NBA stuff in order. Magic Johnson did it right. He improved every off season. Drew needs to look at him and see what makes the good players even better.

I've been saying from day that I love when guys are AWOL during the summer. This whole wanting total access to what a guy is doing is to evasive for me. As dcash pointed out the whole "Bynum's going to workout with Howard" was way too dramatic. Howard only brought it up because he's from Atlanta and that's where Bynum trains.

I'm glad he's hidden and nobody knows what he's doing. Just as long as he's busting his ass that's all that counts to me. He needs to come back quicker, with the improvement being in his lateral movement. I could careless about him coming back as the Hulk, he doesn't need to add bulk just improve his core strength.

But seeing as this is September he'll being coming home soon.

Agree with Deep said, Bynum needs to concentrate more on agility and lasting the duration in games more than just muscling up. he seemed winded in a few games he played more than 30 mins or so last season and if he wants to see those 4th quarter minutes he needs to stay in top conditioning.

If he stays healthy it's nearly a given. Center is the easiest way in, and with Yao down, even easier.
