sun yue played a total of 28 minutes with the lakers. he shot 3 for 11, committed more turnovers than assists, had 10 (ten!!!) fouls in those 28 minutes, and had a per of -8.6. yeah, thats a negative.

unlike Yao and Yi he is an NBA champion. the experiance of sitting on the bench next to his hot girlfriend wearing a suit during a championship run will be valuable to the Knicks young players.

tall, skinny, shot well at olympics, not well for the lakers
every time he came on during garbage time, the fans egged him on to try to score, he obliged for much of the 28 total minutes he played

lucky bastard is playing in two of the biggest markets during his early career.

The sample size is too small to give a well-informed opinion. Judging by training camp games and Olympic highlight reels, he's a good weak side blocker on transition defense.
The same tapes suggest that he's very agile for his size, has decent handles (despite his t/o stats), good eye for the game, good passer. Needs PT to develop into a reliable NBA player.
Utopic Best Case Scenario NBA comparison: AK47
Worst Case Scenario: Sun Yue as of now
I think he will improve a lot, next season. Why? His poise was completely different with the Chinese National Team. Adjusting to such a radically different type of culture and lifestyle and money and a new language and a new country and new everything takes a little while.
If he starts coming into his own in the NBA, I think it might happen next season.

He can sit and eat up the Knickes money. He did nothing for the Lakers. His NBA ring might be worth more than he was.

Ace, I can't stop staring. This is bad.
Anyways, Sun Yue can hopefully become a decent guard. He's pretty big to play the guard positions. But he's pretty much a work in progress. I personally hope he does well.

Really??
So like Dcash said he played a total of 28 minutes with the lakers. he shot 3 for 11, committed more turnovers than assists, had 10 (ten!!!) fouls in those 28 minutes, and had a per of -8.6. yeah, so what do you consider that, an all star perfromance? And why do you have to get personal if we are being honest with you.

To the OP, he might sell some jerseys and make the organization some money but skillswise he's a long way from being a potent NBA player.
