What I would ideally love from Phil

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Mon Sep 28, 2009 5:58 pm

What I want from Phil that some coaches might not do but this is what I want from him

1.Limit Gasol's minutes to under 32
2.Limit Kobe's minutes to under 32
3.Limit Ron's minutes to under 32
4.Tell Kobe to make Ron his new best friend, his mentor and show him the way.
5.Make Ron give up twitter and distance himself from the media
6.Tell Odom no show
7.Tell Odom to take Farmar and Brown and for an hour a day have them try and score on you and you have to try and stop them from the peremiter.
8.Have Shaw teach Odom how to play pg on the offensive end.
9.Move Odom to starting pg.
10.On offense play Ron at the 2 and Kobe at the 3
11.Make Andrew work more on his game and slip him pills that lower his labeto.
12.Play with the big 5 as the starting lineup.
13.Have Walton hit the weight room and learn post moves and switch to a 4 who can play 3 instead of sf who can barely play 4
14.Have Brown work with a pg and practice his passing dribbling
15.Let the french guy make the team
16.Tell Gasol there is no reason he shouldn't get 2 blocks a game
17.Have Sasha bulk up 5-10 pounds to play sf/sg pg is no longer an option
18.Hire an assistant with expierence or take Shaw tell him he is the guy now if anything is to happen to Phil giving him the confidence and really teach him anything he already hasn't.
19.Have the french guy shoot 1,000 jumpers a day.
20.Give Josh Powell 20 minutes of playing time-everybody is waiting for Brown to breakout, Powell is a gem nobody seems to know about.
21.Be straight with Adam Morrison, and let him know he ain't got a shot and trade him to a team who can really use him, maybe get a draft pick and another backup wing for the expiring of course have to convience Mitch to do it. I feel sorry for him, and he is really trying but he doesn't have what it takes.
22.In preseason start D.J. Powell Walton Brown Farmar and have the starting squad sit out entirely until the last 2 games were they play 1 quarter each game.
23.Give Bynum some confiendence and let him shoot 15x a game.
24.Play Kobe at the 3 offensively and Ron at the 2 offensively
25.Sign a 5 year extension

Asking Sasha to bulk up is as likely to happen as telling Shaq to stfu for the rest of his career. Impossible

He probably lost 10 pounds just by cutting his hair.

some ppl ask too much!

we just won a championship, we cant have perfect players on the perfect team

this is unreasonable, love our players weaknesses with their strengths

You repeated yourself a couple times about Kobe and Artest starting at SF and SG...which doesn't really matter where they start.

And NO Odom should not start at PG, Brian Shaw teach him to play PG?

The things I agree with most on the list are:

1. Telling Ammo he just sucks, and will be traded
2. Phil signing an extension

See this thread shows exactly why Phil is the headcoach and you aren't.

lolzers

saying it twice doesn't increase the odds of it happening

+1 on extension, but due to his health issues that looks at best 50/50 considering he has nothing left to prove.

So I'd want Phil/Kobe to come out and anoint the next laker head coach....

This isn't unreasonable & it's his opinion. Of course you're not going to agree with everything but unreasonable he's not about most things.

I wuv it.

However, Bryant at the 3 and Ron at the 2? That'd be interesting. Also, I like Adam. Give him all the garbage minutes (oh, they will come) that present themselves, and see if he can't do the Lakers some good and possibly even move into the rotation. If for 10 to 12 minutes a game even.

There are not many 2's Artest can guard anymore. I see him gaurding 2's or 4's on a limites basis with the Lakers. He's more bulk than speed. He's better against physical perimeter players.
