OT: an LA Series

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Mon Oct 12, 2009 3:20 am

I was sooooooooo bummed when the Lakers lost to Pheonix in 2006. I REALLY wanted to go to EVERY game of the series LAL vs. Clips.

Not to bring up a bad memory but if the Angels & Dodgers meet in the series will you try to go to a game at both stadiums? That would be pretty unreal!

Angles are from Anaheim, LOL, will never say they are the LA angels of anaheim, that's the stupidest thing in the history of sports name changes.

Exactly! Orange County people really got it twisted. I want Dodgers vs Yankees, Angels fans are so annoying (no disrespect to the real Angels fans on this board)

Angels fan here, it will be awesome to see the 2 meet in the world series. So glad we just SWEPT the lame Red Sox and the Spankees are next.

I enjoy watching the Dodgers and am pulling for them to make the World Series, if they do though, I'll have to root for my local team. Family's got season tickets and I live 5 minutes from the stadium.

and yes, I co-sign Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim is the WORST name ever in sports history. Thx Moreno you sell out.

I have to disagree with some of the posts here. I, for one, would be happy to see a Dodgers VS. Angels "Freeway Series." I was born in Los Angeles, and me and my family has always rooted for the Dodgers. But we moved to Orange County in 1996 near Anaheim when I was in middle school, so I also became interested in the Angels. It was pretty cool when they won the 2002 World Series the same year I graduated high school.

Some of the biggest Laker fans I know are Angels fans. So I don't really mind the name change from Anaheim Angels to L.A. Angels. I'm kind of glad LA has two baseball teams that are doing so well in the playoffs.

But when it comes down to it, I think Dodgers VS. Yankees is the matchup I'm looking most forward to. The potential storylines, marketability, and drama of that series would be epic. And also, the biggest Dodger fan I know, a good friend of mine, passed away this year, so I really hope Dodgers will win it all. He would have loved that.

MY DREAM IS TO GO EVERY GAME OF A LAL VS. LAC PLAY-OFF SERIES OR EVERY GAME OF A LAD VS AA WORLD SERIES.

That would be just amazing.

Those apartments by Angels stadium would be pretty cool to live ion for an Angels fan but I grew up going to Dodger games!

I love the dodgers & the angels, but i'm more a dodger fan. Man I would love to go to both stadiums wearing my dodger blue. (GO DODGERS)!

Why the hate from dodger fans? You'd really rather the Yankees win the WS than the Angels? I'd be stoked for either socal team to win

yeah, lots of Angels hate. jeez. we're in different leagues, the only time we'll compete is in the World Series. You gotta be honest, Dodgers haven't been relevant for a LONG LONG time, since the miracle run in 88' I believe. Almost all Angel fans actually root for the Dodgers also.

Possible 1 area play-off series:

Lakers vs. Clippers (all the games played in the same building; the visiting locker room would be empty!!!)
NY Yankees vs. NY Mets
NY Giants vs. NY Jets
Chi White Sox vs. Chi Cubs (very very unlikely)
NY Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets (someday???)
Oakland A's vs. SF Giants (kind of the same city)

Giants and A's did play in the World Series in 1989. I was there :)

That's when the 89 SF Earthquake happened.
