Do you guys think Kobe is going to get another MVP and I know that his main objective is to get rings and the finals mvp but me and you both know him retiring with 1 mvp is wrong so what will it take stats or team success or a little of both?

Throw in a comma or two brotha .LOL

Lebron's the media darling now, he'll get it for the next 6 years or so,Hopefully Kobe makes them all look stupid by the finals MVP.

He wont get it unless we win a ridiculous amount of games... but we all know he should have gotten it in 06

i don't really buy the he should have won it in 06 talk. there have been clear team standards for mvp winners for quite some time. its partly why he won it over a statistically superior chris paul two yrs ago.

as for the question, i don't see kobe winning another mvp in his career with the amount of talent on this team. i think the lakers would need to be 72 win range for him to win it.

he'll probably end up with fewer regular season mvp's than finals (1 and counting) and all star game mvp's (3 and counting)

Didn't Shaq get only one regular season MVP? A large part of it was down to playing alongside another all star in Kobe Bryant and now Kobe will find it hard to get these accolades while playing alongside an all star supporting cast too.

I wouldn't mind it as long as he keeps winning finals MVPs.

I understand the roster is pretty good now for the Lakers, but lets look at the Lebrons squad.

Shaq- ..........
Zydrunas- 2003, 2005 All star, decent post game and midrange jumper
Delonte- weird now, but playoffs his post-up fadeaway game was insane, midrange and 3 above average. 14ppg in playoffs
Mo Williams- All star, really good shooter, 18ppg 4 assists regular season
Gibson- decent young gun who can light it up from 3
Varejao- 9pts 7 boards 28mpg he is ok
Wally- one time all star not on cavs any more
Moon- high flyer
Leon Powe- champion, beasted us 07

this guy has a sick team around him and they got to play crap teams 3 or 4 times
Wizards
Knicks
Raps
Kittens
Bucks
Nets
Pacers

These teams pad the hell out of their record. Screw Lebron, KOBE MVP.

I'm still not sure about Kobe in the playoffs last year. He either got really tired, lost a little explosiveness, was hurt, or a mix of these. Cuz, I just noticed it in the playoffs. Combined we see every laker interview, it will come up at some point this season if he was injured I'm sure.

I think he can still get one, sure, but it's gonna take Stat Boy getting hurt (he's never been hurt, every superstar gets hurt at some point) or suspended for juicing, something to that effect.

Don't forget about Deron Williams or CP3 those two PGs have a clear advantage IMO to any other MVP canidate since they have the ball in their hands more than half the game.

Kobe will not win another regular season MVP....and I could really careless. Unless like Cash said, the Lakers win like 72 games. Kobe just needs ot focus on making his teammates better and winning rings.

I wouldn't be so sure about Kobe not winning another. Lebron added significant talent to his team this offseason, he may actually get to sit more than he has ever in the past. Plus, Shaq is going to hurt his stat-padding.

I think it's very possible for Kobe to come out this season averaging something like:

24 PPG
7 assists
7 rebounds
2 steals
1.2 blocks
50% FG
85% FT
2.5 TO

I think that would earn an MVP esepcially if the Lakers get 65-70 wins. The addition of artest will do a lot of for Kobe both offensively and defensively. His FG% will improve, his assists may well go up and best of all, Artest will cover the better of the SG/SF and Kobe can roam. This will lead to steals, weakside blocks, breakaways (easy dunk or assist) . Personally, I anticipate Kobe to have the best statistical season of his career as far as balance.

He'll have the lowest PPG in the last 5 years but everything else should improve.

there is always the one with the most weight, "the best player in the best team".

hey now, if that were it kobe would have zero mvp's and KG would have another one.

Another MVP would be nice. 4 rings gives him a sure ticket to the hall of fame and it is all about the team winning now. If he got another award. He would take it. I bet he wants at lease 6 Jordan has.

Would be fun to see Kobe win another MVP. I think this years team is going to be strong enough to earn him top honors as long as we get everyone to blend in.

to me this is the first year where I honestly don't think he is as valuable to the team as others are for their teams. in years past, the lakers needed him soooooo badly and there wasn't a season where I wouldn't have made an argument for him as the mvp. this year it appears that the team would possibly make the playoffs even with a worse SG than him so - as much as I think he is the best player in the league - I don't think he should be mvp.

Lebron neither because I hate him :) but they are relying more on him than the lakers would need to rely on kobe this year.

I guess it will very unfortunately be Wade which I hate, but I'm hoping for Brandon Roy or Chris Paul. These guys can flat out play and don't have those annoying antics and license-to-palm-the-ball

u haven't seen chris paul play extensively if u think he doesn't have annoying antics. i can't stand watching his offensive flopping.
