Not a premature thought that the Lakers will take the West, but just curious who everyone thinks will come out of the Eastern Conference? Explain your pick.

I think if healthy Boston has a great shot but I think a lot of people are ignoring Orlando's off-season additions of Bass and Matt Barnes. Vince Carter should be motivated by playing for a contender and Jameer Nelson will be healthy again. So I'm picking the Magic.

Well it will still be tough for the Lakers, it won't be an automatic walk like we or anybody tends to think it will. That said in the east I'd say there is way more teams for Boston or Cleveland has to pass through. Not to mention two of the 3 will have to face each other on one side of the bracket.

All signs point towards Boston, but there are no guarantee's.

You can make a case for all 3 teams.

Magic - won the conference and have gotten better. Carter is an upgrade over Turkoglu and the addition of a true PF in Bass, not to mention Barnes as well

Celtics - won 62 games with their best player missing a chunk of the season and pushed the conference champs to 7 games... Addition of Sheed and Daniels should make them better as well.

Cavs - won 66 games and steam rolled through the playoffs until they met the Magic. Added Shaq who will guard Dwight much better than Illgauskus/Varejao. And added Parker/Moon to help defend the high pick and roll.



I think, at the moment, I have to go with the Cavs even though I find myself flip flopping everyday. I think KG has lost a step which is huge for Boston. Sheed while solid defensively is nothing more than an inefficient 3 point shooter on offense... I'm still not buying Rondo's shot and I'm just not sure Pierce and Allen can carry them at this point in their careers.

I think the Cavs' new versatility on defense with Parker and Moon on top of West and LeBron will be huge for them in defending Pierce/Allen and Carter/Lewis and Shaq will hold his own against Dwight.

i took orlando.

i have a good feeling about that team. they will have the same hunger that the lakers had last year. matt barnes is a good pick up and bass is a great pick up. and let's face it dwight howard can rebound and block shots. defense is key and his defense can effect a game.

cavs changed up too much and i don't think their role players are gonna step up. delonte west is living la vida loca. Bobbie is untrustworthy. Shaky.

c's are banged up and old and they are all ugly

washington - arenas, butler, jamison completely healthy in their prime doesn't even equal ECF

It's really close but I would say Orlando, Vince Carter has never played next to a big man like Dwight, it's going to really open up his game. I don't think Shaq is going to make the Cavs much better, Parker and possibly Moon are going to be great though.

I can't really rank these teams, it's more about matchups and circumstance. I say Magic because I think they have a good chance against the Celtics or Cavs.

as much as I want the Celtics I think the Cavs will win the East for the regular season. as far as who is going to the finals is a toss up for me. I really will enjoy a Cavs v Magic (Shaq v DHoward) show down, but I want the Celtics.

Delete Raptors from the pool and just add them to other. I believe it will be Cavs or Celts. WIth Lewis missing the first 10 games due to the suspension that could be the difference.

I want the Celtics, but I think it will be the Cavs. Lebron is too good and his supporting cast is pretty damn good as well. Celtics are probably the biggest threat to us I think we can dismantle Cleveland. But against the rest of the east I believe Cleveland is public enemy #1.
