The Memphis Grizzlies may not be through with Big Time Off-Season acquistions..

THIS one would be on the Bench..

NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is considering joining the Grizz as their Big Man Coach.

Jabbar sat in on the Grizzlies Practice Monday at FedExForum.

Memphis Brass wouldn't comment, but the Grizz have received permission from the L.A. Lakers to speak with Jabbar..

Sports Illustrated writer Arash Markazi reports Jabbar met with Memphis Big Men Sunday...

He spent the last several seasons working with the Lakers Andrew Bynum..a 7-footer who went straight to the NBA out of High School.

Memphis has 3-Young Centers in Marc Gasol, Hasheem Thabeet and Hamed Haddadi who could gain from Jabbars' tutelage.

The 62 Year Old Jabbar is the NBA's All-Time Leading Scorer and Inventor of the Legendary Sky Hook.

He is a 6-time NBA Champion.. 6-time League MVP...and a 19 time All-Star.

There is now word on a timetable for a decision.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar might be helping the Memphis Grizzlies with their big men this season after being relieved of his duties by the Lakers.

Kareem met with Memphis’ centers on Sunday although GM Chris Wallace said the Grizzlies had “not hired Kareem as of this time.”

The Commercial Appeal in Memphis confirmed today what I reported yesterday about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar possibly joining the Grizzlies staff.

Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace says it would be "premature" to announce anything on Kareem "at this time" but he was at practice Monday.

As long as Thabeet, Haddadi, and Gasol are willing to listen they'll improve immensely under Jabbar. Since the Lakers felt the need Jabbar wasn't needed any further why not leave, hell I would if I were dealt the hand Jabbar was. Thabeet has already said he want's Kareem to tutor him.

These are guy who'd actually listen to him.

I wish he would stay and continue to work with Bynum...

i think KAJ sealed his own faith with the lakers when he openly campaigned for the lakers' head coach position on twitter.

Haddadi is not an NBA player but Thabeet could be molded well into a good center by Kareem.

Come on dcash, you're twisting it here. It was obvious Phil was still the coach, Kareem didn't say "after Phil is done I want next". All he mentioned is that he's ready for an opportunity to be a head. If you find the exact quote then I'll stand corrected.
