Does this open the door for him to come back to LA as an ASST COACH?? I personally don't want him to come back and take PJ after he leaves, but could he fill in in a smaller role within the coaching staff??

With that being said, how likely is it to happen after just a couple days ago B Scott said he loves LA and LA will always be in his heart?

I personally do want him succeed the old man. I'm disapointed he didn't keep his own ship floating until the offseason, though. Not sure he'd be a good fit as an asst, but clearly he "Bleeds Purple and Gold" so he wants to be coach, and Buss probably has some affinity for him and Phil won't coach too much longer...

it would be more interesting to see him as a tv analyst for the remainder of the year. I'd like to learn more about his philosophy.

i'm not big on the bscott for head coach idea.

as far as being an asst. i don't think he'd take on an assistant job anywhere. he'll wait for another head coaching opportunity just like almost every other established head coach that gets fired.

Assistant maybe, he seems to rub the players the wrong way though, Maybe take over where Kurt left off, but I don't see him as a future Laker head coach.

No surprise that he got fired. I supported him throughout the years but I'll say that my opinion of B. Scott as a coach has probably changed due to the issues he's had both in NJ and NO with players.

It's hard to judge because I haven't followed either organization very closely, but I think he's made it clear as day that he wants back with the Lakers. I'm not sure how I feel about him as head coach, but I'd like him to have a place somewhere on the coaching staff whether Phil is here or not. This team practically coaches itself anyway and I seriously doubt he would come in a **** things up. Heck, maybe he can get us to play some consistent defense.

Scape goat, anyone? What an f'ing joke. Ownership depletes the roster to salvage the bottom line and they expect BScott to motivate the team to play at a high level in order to, you guessed it, produce revenue. Unbelievable.

I wouldn't mind him taking over defensive duties as Rambis was supposed to do last season.

This is a Yes & No for me.

Yes on him taking over if Yoda decides to call it, and No to bringing B on as an assistant. That just opens the doors for drama on Phil and the media calling him lame duck coach. It'll be a major distraction.

+1 I want Scott to succeed Phil as well, well him or Brian Shaw.

I agree with Deep. I want him to replace Phil after this season, but having him as an assistant right now, probably wouldn't be a good idea.

Can anybody link me to something clear on what problems he's had with what players?

losing control in NJ, losing control in NO

the players kinda quit on him, an indictment of both players and coach

yes to assistant role, no to head coach role.

b shaw is the next in line...

To be fair, I think BScott's biggest strength can be his biggest weakness. He pushes his players VERY hard. This works great if everything else is peachy. But combine this with any other negativity surrounding a team, and it blows up. BScott knows no other way. He can't limit how hard he pushes his team. BScott is one hell of a coach, but not a great "manager," if you will.

Coaches that cannot adapt will always be scapegoats.

opening? yeah, i heard the clippers have an opening at head coach.

as far as the LAKERs are concerned, im chips ALL IN for cleamons. he knows the offense. knows the personnel. he is an EX-LAKER. albeit from the 70s.
