Out of respect for Jordan...No one REALLY knows what was going through their heads since something like this is unprecedented.

Kind of dumb..Even though MJ is the GOAT he only needs his jersey retired by the Bulls.

They had nothing better to do on that day.

And no I dont think Jordans is GOAT. In his position maybe but there are a lot better players we can mention to be on the same level as Jordan. Players like Bill Russell, Jerry West, DrJ, Kareem, definantly Magic and Bird. So I disagree with MJ being the GOAT. He was in his own era but not the GOAT.

This has to be one of the weirdest things ever done, retire the jersey of another player who NEVER even played for you?

Kinda like putting up a conference championship banner I guess, kinda pathetic and sad Miami, your pathetic.

I dunno, I here what you guys are saying, but I think I disagree. I like the idea of retiring the number 23 in the entire NBA. I don't think every team should hang it from its rafters, but I do like the idea of one day disallowing anyone from wearing it. Maybe when MJ gets much older, as a tribute.

IMHO MJ is the GOAT, but admittedly I haven't seen much film on the pre-80's greats. I LOVE Magic but I just don't think he was great of an all-around player as MJ. I don't think Bird is anywhere near MJ.

Screw that, that's just stupid. Retire a number for every team? Sppssst. The Jordan Jockers are out in force all of a sudden, you would have thought the guy died and we are all to now worship the dude.  :pityfool:

Ya you can say this is the first thing that I have agreed with you on.
Basically the Heat tried to show respect to MJ by retiring his jersey sort of like the same way NHL did with Wayne G, and MLB did with Hank A. But I dont think it will work simply because there has been other GOAT that have helped build the NBA and to give credit to one player even if he is the GOAT in his position would be an insult to other players like I mention above.

Im cool with C/C banners cause it is an achievements but I wouldn't really care for it but I guess you can say because we are Laker fans and we have 15 Championship banners and who cares about C/C banners.

Whats really funny though is the Phx NUNS banner they added on their rafters that Dcash brought to our attention yesterday. How sad is that 42 years in the league and all they could raise was a banner of their own teams logo. :noway:

"Jordan jockers" "worship"...what are you talking about? Enough with the dramatic overstatements, who would you say is the GOAT. No waffling...pick one.

^C'mon. I agree Kobe is up there, but he's not even second to MJ right now. He has a lot more to do. I'm not saying he can't/won't do it, but c'mon, he doesn't deserve such praise yet.

Thats the problem brah............. Unlike other sports the NBA has a few people that have achieved just as much as Jordan has but in different era's so it is really unfair to sit here and say we need to retire MJs number but we can't when it comes to DrJs or Kareems etc etc. If Miami wants to do that then so be it, because Miami really doesnt have any legends or HOF yet, but you want to come in LA, Phili, Detroit or Boston and tell these teams to retire MJs N# they will tell the NBA to kiss their arse cause our legends have done far more good things for our franchise than MJ has.

As far as Lecrab saying what he did last nightkissing MJs arse is basically him telling the world that Im moving on from Cavs and a new team and a new Jersey. Imagine who outside of Kobe and Mj have stayed with the same team and changed his N#?? Who??

Lefail isnt dumb. He knows how to push the right buttons and this is the start of the 2010 F.A gameplan.

Agreed on all accounts, esp. the bolded. Thats why I said above that I'm not big on the idea of hanging his jersey from the rafters of any stadium other than Chicago. Nevertheless, good points.

Re: Lebron, I don't listen to anything he says. Can't stand the guy off the court. On the court he's unreal, but IMHO he is so damn disrepectful. He's getting max money and any team would bend over backwards to get him, so why all the commentary? Shutup and go where you want when its time.

Trust me you didnt miss ish.
Basically he was so far up MJs rear with "In honor of MJ I will lick his nuts and wash his car blaaaaaaaaah blaaaaaaah blahhhhhhhh" Meanwhile picking his nose 50 times live on camera like he always likes to do.

He was so far up MJs arse that they had to call a proctologist to come and remove the crabs out of his arse.

I've never seen this type of "woship" with any other player, I mean Jordan was possibly the greatest ever to play, but it's debatable, and to ask a team that may not agree like the Lakers to not be able to use his number? Wow, that's Jordan jocking worship worse than I've ever seen.

I mean before Jordan, did you see this with Wilt? Or Russel? Or Cousy? Jabbar? Nope.

Any other sport have something similar? I doubt it.

As I said, all of a sudden the Jordan worship is getting out of hand, the Miami heat retireing his jersey in their stadium when he NEVER Played for them? Is a sign of just that. Wow.

MJ is a douchbag... total ****. Arrogant as fcuk and no sense of humility even when its all said and done (HOF Speech, :nonono: ). For the player that he was, i would give the idea of retiring the number 23 a bit of a thought. For the man that he is, i wouldn't dare think about representing that god-size ego in my Arena forever. Shame on Miami !!! I'd rather pull this ish in every single Arena for Kareem than for MJ. This whole thing makes me sick!!
