You are about to purchase a brand new NBA franchise you get your unprotected draft and all that comes with a new NBA franchise, but D Stern is so hard up for franchising fees he allows you a 1X only offer otherwise you are walking with that money and opening up worldwide hamburger chain. Your offer: You are allowed one player off any NBA team to start your franchise with, who would you select?
D12, Durantula, D Rose, Wade, LBJ, Roy, DWill, CP3, Other?
I can't stand LBJ I'd have to take one of the others personally topper retires number in respect for MJ smh, embarrasing. Current players NBA history starts and finishes with MJ's. I think the pick is D12 or Durant after LBJ. I love Wade, but he has like a year left before his body breaks apart, lol. So many great PG's these days, a great athletic big is hard to find I'll take D12. Agree, disagree, don't care lol.

If I'm a "money first" owner, I take LBJ. If I'm a "win first" owner, I take D12.

LBJ only because the media likes him. If they liked D-Wade as much I would say D-Wade...Melo..etc....

Well, the officials love Dwyane, and that probably has more practical application. So on the basis of favoritism, you'd have to go with him.

Screw the officals...its all about the media. The officals fall in line.

By that definition, if the officials love Dwyane, then the media does too since they're the ones setting the agenda, right? So Dwayne's still your pick.

The word officials never came out of my mouth. Look at my original post. the media sells hype...not officals.

Right. Which goes back to my original post -- which type of favoritism is more valuable, media hype or getting two fouls shots every time you fall down?

And the word "official" most certainly did come out of your mouth. Twice.

I did read your original post. I didn't like it. It's a sarcastic comment meant to belittle James when, in fact, somebody can make an equally belittling comment about Dwyane.
Just busting balls, is all. I think LeBron is a really, really, really good player, completely independent of anything the media does or doesn't do for him.

Ok bro. I think Lebron is a product of a high school system in which nobody taught him how to play basketball. While D-Wade has capatolized from a year in college. Lebron is sick...dont get me wrong, I just scratch my head that he has no low post game while D-wade can at least hold his own. The first sentence out of everyone's mouth when it comes to LBJ is look at his size and speed. Last time I checked you could be a slow white boy and still dominate...(no offense) see steve nash. Its amazing to me what lebron doesnt know how to do. He will get it eventually, but how are you 6'8 and have no post game? He's surrounded by yes men. I give the young guy credit though, he has stayed out of trouble. I hope he gets all he can.

OK, that's a very legitimate critique. Even though I hold him in much higher esteem, and would rather praise for what he can do instead of criticize for what he can't, I can't even disagree with any of it. Good post.

Durant or D12...Either one would be great and the bonus is you can market them. Once LBJ is busted for steroids he'll lose sponsers, plus the dude continues to do dumb things, because he lives in a bubble of hype, accolades and admiration of self; A bubble filled with mirrors, lol.

Or me Dub -- I think Dwyane is fabulous. All that crap about D-Whistle is overrated. Greatness is greatness. I guess I just felt like sticking up for LBJ as, for whatever reason, he's one of my favorites.
