OT: Official Car Thread

I'm in the market for a car, but I just wanted to get opinions from people here on different cars. Any experience with the following would be really helpful.
2002 BMW 7 series, 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, 2006 Pontiac GTO, etc.
What I'm looking for mainly is a performance car, a coupe is fine as long as it seats more than two. Any good ideas out there? Budget is 22K and under. Also, whatever I get I want to put a body kit on it so if you guys can recommend any local SoCal shops that would be awesome. I know for trucks and ish they have 4 wheel parts, but I'm looking for a shop exactly like that but for cars.
Thanks for the help guys!
Here's a few pics:

I know you're probably thinking, a Pontiac thrown in with the other two? But fact is that car has 400HP stock, so it's pretty fast.

I'd suggest the 2002 BMW 7 series. My friend owns a 5 series 2004 model and its one of the best cars I've driven so I assume the 7 series is a notch better.

Go with the 7 Series. BMW's are great cars even though its the oldest of the 3 probably still drive's the best.

That Charger is badass, I'm guessing it's way over 22K...

All three kill my 1998 Honda CRV with 175,000 miles. But I'd go with the Beamer.

Sure the 7 series is sexy, but just remember it's easily the most expensive of the three to maintain and fix.

New, pre-owned, automatic, manual? Are those the only options? I need more to work with.
For that range you could get a used M3.

The only thing it has to be is automatic. Too hard to drive high with a manual.

Any reason you like the 7 series over 5 or 3 series? I know you said you wanted a performance car which to me would mean smaller, lighter weight.

No reason at all. I do like the look of the seven series though. It doesn't feel like a Corolla.

Can you afford the maintenance on a BMW?

Well, I'm stepping out now, but I spent 2 1/2 months looking for my car (performance car enthusiast), and went with a VW GTI. They're fast (and can easily be modded since it's a turbo), and is just a nicer car than others in the class. For pre-owns, I was looking at a 330 ci (basically a mini M3). I'd love to talk more about it later though, I love hunting for cars.

Nice, you sound well-researched then. Do come back and share your findings. Thanks man.

If you want speed. Get a 2003 350z with a greddy twin turbo. That should put you close to 475 bhp.

I already have a 350z. I'm looking to get some more seating though.
