The Lakers defeated the New York Knicks 100-90 on Tuesday night to improve their record to 11-3 and also took over 1st place in the Western Conference and Pacific Division.

The Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 111-103 on Tuesday to improve their record to 5-8. The Warriors are currently in 5th place in the Pacific Division and 13th in the Western Conference.The Warriors play the San Antonio Spurs Wednesday at San Antonio.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 381st game between the Lakers and Warriors, with the Lakers leading the series 233-147. The Lakers have also won the last 5 meetings between the teams and 19 of the last 22. The Lakers are 9-2 in their last 11 games at Oracle Arena.




GAME KEYS
The Warriors like to push the tempo and run every possession they get. Don Nelson is known for playing lineups to counter teams with height, therefore he'll go small to neutralize their advantage. In order for the Lakers to control the Warriors they must rebound on the defensive glass and pound the ball in the soft middle of the Warriors defense.

The player the Lakers will zone in on will be Monte Ellis, stopping him will be the key to a Laker win. They must limit his penetration and nullify his ability to kick out to shooters Marrow and former Laker Vlad Radmanovic and rookie Stephen Curry.

The Lakers front line should feast on the undersized Warriors and come away with a win in the Bay.

This team is trouble, they are quick and very talented. Expect Monta Ellis to abuse Fisher and Farmar and run circles around them. Stephen Curry is money if you don't bother him enough, Morrow is deadly from the outside. We must be careful for their energetic athletic guys like Anthony Randolph. No lead is ever safe with these guys, they almost won in Cle and Bos, they beat Portland and Dallas. I think we might lose if we are not careful =(
