Is it time to call Fisher "Mr Clutch"

So in Lakers history we have had a few clutch shooters that have come through for us when neccessary. Players like Magic, Nick, Coop, Horry, Kobe etc.

Seeing how Fish has been incosistant at times but DAMMMMMMM he has come through for us time and time again specially in the finals last year and last nights game on the line.

So I ask my Laker bro's, Can we or should we put Fish on that list of clutchness???

Can I get a AMAN???

Absolutely. He's hit huge shots for us in the regular season and playoffs, so he's proven to be a great performer under pressure. He also hit a game-winner for the Jazz in the WCF a few years ago.

That said, it's the least he could have done. He made some boneheaded plays on both ends late in yesterdays game (lazy defense on the Wade/Chalmers screen, especially) so I'm glad he was able to redeem himself.

Errick Fisher reminds me of Horry a lot. sucky during the regular season, but clutch when it counts.

This.

I couldn't help but laugh when he made the 3 last night cause even though hes shooting horribly from the 3 pt line this year when he let it go I think we all knew it was going down. Same exact spot as the one @ Orlando too.

Mr. Clutch? Uhh, I think that nickname has already been taken foolio's ;).

Damn' I caught three legend posters mistepping on this thread, how many points is that, dammit where's my prize?!

I should win a free custom made thread signature created by Kno, or an XL real gm tshirt.

what I said was that he reminds of Horry for sucking during the regular season and being clutch when it counts.

......oh wait, were you talking about 96 Til Infinitias as the third legendary poster? my bad!

Hes only "clutch" playing next to kobe. Basically his man always doubles kobe and more times than not he is wide open. Those 3p's in the playoffs last year against denver and again last night his man sags off of him trying to deny kobe the ball leaving him open. He sure makes the best of it. We dont hear about his clutch shots when he was in utah or GS...well maybe 1 shot in utah playoffs

so what you are basically saying is that Fisher is Mr. Clutch*.

*only when playing next to Kobe.

Haha yes that asterisk would work beautifully. His clutch shots cancels his poor play during the game so the trade offs are in full effects.

Clutch but not Mr clutch. That title still belongs to Jerry West because he was consistent through out the game plus hit the big shots. So i just give him clutch but not Mr. Clutch.

excellent thread. weve had tons here cryin and worryin about the point or that about the point position. but fish is STEADY. fish is SURE HANDED. fish is CALM AMIDST THE STORM. when the money is on the line, we dont need fast breaks, but execution. fish brings that. now in time he will be replaced, because of his age, but right now and in moments like last nite, we are in good hands.

Whats nuts is that Kobe, Horry & Fish were all on the same team

Must have been something in the water

No wonder the Lakers made the Finals 6 times in the 90s and won 4

We only went to the Finals once in the 90's & none of those gys were on that eam unless you're counting the '99-'00 team

Yeah that pretty much sums it up right there. I remember during the latter days of Horry's career when he was playing for us; Phil would take him out early and not bring him back until the middle of the fourth quarter. But he would leave him in during the entire fourth and overtime if need be. And I would remember getting mad seeing Horry there and question Phil's rotations. But Horry would time and time again hit big shots, or grab crucial rebounds and you would know that THAT is why he was in the game. For some uncanny reason; Horry and Fisher could go 0-16 during the game but the one shot that counts at the very end. They will knock down with ease. You can't really explain it; just be thankful that they were both Lakers. 8-)

the sad thing about it is, i had actually started seeing ariza startin to step up and show glimpses of that CLUTCH shot type of game late in games. he started raising and raising and raising his gameplay and his game level. and he was hitting big shots or making big plays down the stretch of tightly contested games.

then POW. he did a towel in ainges face type moment . . .

No Laker fan should call any player EXCEPT Jerry West Mr. Clutch.

Fisher is Clutch though
Our backcourt is super clutch

West wasnt that clutch in the finals but we love him so who cares.

he definitely fits in that genre... Even though kobe made that clutch shot at the end.. we wouldn't had made it a game if it weren't for fishers clutch 3pter... He's not Mr. Clutch but he's definitely in that elite group of clutchmens in bb history..
