T-mac to the lakers next year?

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/spo ... 84658.htmlAlthough the lakers don't appear in this article ,we know T-Mac loves Kobe and if really winning matters the most to him why not come to the lakers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-Ecx5v8vIoWhat do you guys think?I think we should take a look at him next summer for MLE.
I'm pretty certain that Farmar won't return so Shannon would see lots of minutes at PG ,and the 12/13 min for the backup SG would have to go to Sasha

.And also,T-mac can play SF and there are also about 14-15 min there that go to Walton and could go to T-mac.
I think 26-27 min off the bench would be enough for a guy plagued by injuries throught his career and I think he might accept if Mitch makes him an offer.
Opinions?

funny story. when phil wanted to trade kobe for someone in 04, he said tmac was a possibility but he heard tmac says his back hurts everytime you ask him to play defense.
Or something like that.
I think Shannon is playing a sorta shooting guard role now, but I guess he can do point guard. It wouldn't be so bad, but do you think he wants to come off the bench? Or do you mean replace Artest as small forward?
In the end though, i would say no. But if it's a cheap try, why not.

I am pretty sure that Farmar will not be resigned so Brown will be fulltime backup at PG(he may even play more minutes than Fish). So him playing 24-26 min at PG ,I don't see Phil using him that much at SG.
And Kobe plays about 35/36 min so there's a bunch a minutes there that will probably go to Vujacic.
At SF,there are some minutes available also(assuming ron plays 33-34,about 15 min)that would go to Walton.I would rather give those minutes to T-Mac than make Vujacic or Walton regular rotation guys.
So there are about 26-28 minutes(even more if somebody gets injured)as a 6th man role.We need some scoring off the bench because Odom doesn't gives much(8ppg???)and in 25-28 min I'm pretty sure that T-Mac can give us 14-15 ppg pretty easily. Also I truly believe he will accept a bench role if given those minutes I mentioned, after microfracture surgery 25-28 min on the best team in the league is better than 35 on an average or bad team IMO.
With T-mac signed we would have a legit 8 man rotation
PG Fisher 23 mins /Brown 25 mins
SG Kobe 35 mins/T-mac 13 mins
SF Artest 33 mins/T-mac 15 mins
PF Gasol 18 mins/Odom 30 mins
C Bynum 30 mins/Gasol 18 mins
Obviously the mins would drop slightly in blowout games(there will be plenty) and the rest of the guys Vujacic,Walton,Powell,Mbenga and probably another PG signee would see some mins in garbage time
Mins distribution:
Gasol 36,Kobe 35,Artest 33,Odom 30,Bynum 30,T-Mac 28 ,Brown 25,Fisher 23(again the numbers would likely drop because we will have lots of blowouts)+garbage time Vujacic,Walton,Powell,Mbenga
and another PG

Do we know this? They seem cordial when they meet, but I haven't seen a friendship with the two, not even an artificial friendship ala Kobe/Wade.

He quit on his teammates against the Raptors.. you want him on the same team with a guy who scored 81 pts to pull his team through a game?

You guys are forgetting that T-Mac is the #1 fan of Kobe Bryant. I would love to have T-Mac on the Lakers next year for the veteran's minimum or bi-annual exception. I actual got a chance to meet T-Mac a few years ago in Houston. The guy absolutely adores Kobe Bryant. I asked him who would be the top 3 players he would like to team with. He only said Kobe Bryant. Didn't even give out names for the other two.
Sure McGrady's work ethic has been questioned, but if he teamed up with the Black Mamba, there would be so much accountability and responsibility that T-Mac would be able to provide a big boost for our bench.

I with Aki.........Shaun is still young, T-Mac is used damaged goods. Plus we don't need him. I never object to the team looking for good players, only way I'm with it is if he's coming off the bench and playing his role.....he's not a star anymore.

I am not even going to worry about next year, or next summer. All that matters is the team we have right now. Why worry about things that really do not matter. Just win it all now and the rest will fall into place.
Merry Christmas all and god bless.

This is more of a fantasy basketball move than anything.
Building a championship basketball team in real life is more than simply just adding as many talented players as possible. It's more important to add pieces that are going to grow together and form chemistry.
For instance, there's no denying that McGrady is a better overall player than Ariza. However, someone like Ariza was a much better fit for the championship team last year than McGrady would have been.
Another example is Fisher. There are plenty of guards out there that are better than he is. However, very few are going to fit in as perfectly with the team as Fisher does.

What position is T-Mac going to play? SF? To replace Artest?
I don't know how we can even pay him.

He'd be a good primary back-up at SG/SF. Why not.

With what money? Rockets wouldn't trade him to LA, of all places.
He has said he wants to play with Kobe though. After he gets a championship first, though.

But God forbid this guy ever suits up for us. Go somewhere else.

No you don't trade for players on the all injury team.
