He may be sick but his numbers of late are totally unexpected. Yes hes not 100% but he is missing easy shots, getting very low boards and showing very little upside totally disrupting the Lakers offence. Has Bynum plateaued too young and quickly come back to earth this season? When 100% where will he sit in the lakers offence? Discuss

Stop going after his head. There were other issues behind this loss and its not just Bynum. He's playing with a respiratory track infection and asthma. Everyone not named Kobe could be collectively held responsible for this loss.

Bynum is something like 21-22. How can he be at the top of his game. He should be in college right now playing for a NCAA title. Give him space and time. He will be a good one some day.

kobe in the post and the return of pau gasol has really eaten into the amount of space he had to operate in

he needs the ball to be effective but hes finding it difficult to catch the ball deep now.

and usually he runs down court for a good easy 3-4 buckets a game, hes just not working as hard as he would if he knew he was being fed the ball... its disappointing to see him turn into scoring option #4 or #5 behind fisher and artest...

Bynum has no fire. He only cares about scoring. He goofs around on the bench like he can care less about a loss, that is maddening to me. He's going thru the motions. He's made of glass.

How valuable is he? If a GM buys into the lost leader called "upside" he could be with Yao out and considering TDunc a PF, the best or second best center in the league. Some GM might take him for their stud point.

I definitely think that Bynum can't produce solid numbers as long as he's paired with Gasol in the starting line-up. I think we should try bringing him off the bench again and putting Lamar in the starting 5. If he shows attitude problems or is not effective, we seriously have to consider a trade. I know that he has some kind of an infection, but this pattern has been going on ever since last year when he was healthy. We just signed Pau to an extension and in any case I would take the Spaniard over Drew. Thus, why not turn this problem into solving our biggest deficiency. Trade Bynum for a dependable pg or something like this:

We get the stable rebounding and defense of Love, plus a dependable underrated pg in Jack (who's been awesome while Calderon has been injured) and Banks could be serviceable of the bench.

T-Wolves get Bynum, who paired with Jefferson might be special. They also get Farmar and Amir Johnson who are both good fits and if they don't like how they fit, both plaayers have contracts that expire after this season.

The Raptors lose Jack but get Sessions, who's a pretty good pg and was playinh really well last year. I don't know why Rambis isn't playing him more often with Flynn. Ellington is a good project. Most importantly they get the expiring copntracts of Morrison and Cardinal to help resign Bosh in the off season or lure somebody else.

Checked with the ESPN Trade Machine and this works. Thoughts?

You wanna trade Bynum, Farmar, and Morrison and get back Kevin Love, Jarret Jack, and Marcus Banks?? Please stop, and please give me some of whatever it is you're smoking...

haha, it's not as crazy as you make it out to be. Love would give us everything that we want from Bynum in terms of steady rebounding and defense. He's not as gifted a scoring option as Drew, but we don't need scoring on a team with Kobe, Pau, Artest and Lamar. Farmar is a bench player capable of providing some decent production. Jack could be a starting point who will not only stay in front of the pg's that give us problems but be a perfect compliment to the guys in the triangle offense. We don't even play Morrison so getting Banks would be a nice bench insurance player. I realize that Bynum has been made out to be an "All-Star" this season, but lets face the facts. The guy has not produced consistently and hasn't even made it thru an entire season without getting injured first. As long as Pau is on the team, he will not get a chance to really show what he can do. Why not trade him when his stock is still high?

Here is what happened to Bynum

Amare was listed as center on the all-star ballot because his people made a phone call to the NBA for him to be listed as a center for only this year (who wants to be listed as a center when Yao comes back?).

Bynum thought he was playing to be the best center in the West, then he realized it was a fan contest he can't win and stopped playing w/ as much fire. Also Bynum wants a bigger role but he does not want to disrupt chemistry when the Lakers are winning.

LO is avging more boards than Bynum. Thats not right.

Andrew's got to pick it up. I don't want to hear any lame-ass excuses about being sick or anything else. If you can play, you're healthy. He's got to figure out a way to make an impact without touches. This has been the big knock on him from the start, and it's clear that he hasn't figured it out. Don't waste the great start you've had by going into the tank because you're not getting touches.

Exactly. Bynum isn't playing to make the all star team any longer, it's to the point that he is now playing just to keep his position in the starting 5. I would like to see Odom inserted into the starting lineup.

I doubt that Cavs game is reason for these kind of threads. Bynum just isn't motivated and most of the time doesn't give a f*ck..he doesn't fit with this team. He has been playing like sh*t for last 15 games or so. I've never liked him and never will and they say we have All-Star caliber center . Just trade his ass while he's still worth anything.

I know its far cry but is there ANY chanche that Lakers will consider Andris Biedrins and Monta Ellis for Andrew Bynum and salary fillers. What would make this kind of deal work???
In Monta Ellis you upgrade your PG spot greatly and Andris Biderins can be solid comming of the bench or starting beside Pau Gasol. Not the scorer of Bynum but can rebound and defend.
