Well this game tonight will test if our boys can respond to being embarrased. It seem's to me that every time we lose this whole board starts to question how good the team really is. The stuff I've seen here and on the GB is utterly (Please Use More Appropriate Word) quite frankly.
When I see stuff like, " our early home games gave us a false sense of how good the team is"........I mean come on how stupid is that. It was one game where we didn't get in rhythm and smart basketball people here know the refs didn't let the Lakers be as aggressive as the Cavs.
I think were we pride ourselves here is that (at least on this board) we don't hardly bitch about the officiating, but yesterday was obvious on how it was going down. And that's why the crowd did what they did, they're not dumb.......we're not dumb. If anybody says that game was called even is basically basketball illiterate.
What guys aren't understanding right now is the team is still meshing, Pau missed training camp, LO started the season starting then had to move to the bench and his game took a dive. Bynum and Pau still haven't gotten enough games together yet. Pau's first 8 games were like his training camp, he's only played 17. So his body and game is like in week 6 but we're in week 10........bottom line is the team is winning despite all the ups and downs.
The bench will straighten itself out once LO decides to really take charge, clearly they're the only real weakness that's glaring right now. Truth is Mitch has until before the trade deadline to figure it out, he can't let it still be a problem at that point. And if those guys don't want to play the roles they've been dealt or the system..........ship their assess out. Phil has already identified the problem with the bench........they all want to score too much. Instead of just playing the system.
The loss stung but that could be the turning point of the season for the Lakers. They have to start playing intense against the elites and destroy the inferior team, stop going into 4th quarters with those teams in striking distance.
Tonight people take a look into the players eyes.......look to see if you can tell if they PO'd, that means no smiles, no giddy looks. Their faces should be rigid and focused. Tonight they must kill the Kings to reemphasize their dominance in this league.
