I started this thread in off topic but there was no response.

I am planning to visit Vegas this summer and my budget is $1000 for the whole trip excluding the flight fare.

Can you guys give advice on affordable restaurants, hotel, strip/night clubs ? Also any other worth watching sites near Vegas ?

Based on his new years thread Tony seems like he is a frequent visitor of sin city. I would appreciate if Tony or any of you guys give me some input.

go see carrot top at luxor. $70 but well worth it. funny show! ti is a pretty reasonable place and its on the better side of the strip. save ur money on strip clubs. go gamble with it, and ull have a better chance of winning!

Just got back yesterday. I am only 23, but anytime i go to vegas with my friends it is always a good time. The energy there is on a level of it's own. Don't set your cell phone anywhere, but your pocket. Or don't lend it to a drunk friend claiming that he put it on the urinal you were using, assuming you knew. So a stolen cell phone can happen in seconds. Since it was so packed for new years, I kept my wallet in my front pocket. I have never been to a strip club out there, but I have been dropped off at one. I think all taxi cab drivers will drive you to the strip club for free. I was dropped off a the spearmint rhino one time and we just used the ride to get somewhat closer to the strip. Since the cab was free. If you are gambling, know when to stop. That's huge. However, most of the times you won't win big money without putting big money down. I love craps, if you don't know how to play you have time to get a little book and learn. There are a lot of different systems. Coyote ugly has a lot of cougars. That's in new york new york. I just went to Rok there too, it's okay. I don't like spending big money of clubs. My friends when to the new club eve, at the new place aria. Some liked it, others thought it was okay. But grant hill, tony parker and ben affleck were there haha. It's eva longorias club I believe. I like ghost bar at the palms, also rain at the palms is awesome. And i would recommend flying and not driving. It's just so much more convenient. Just a few tips from my handful of experiences

I would'nt pay 7 bucks to see Carrot Top. Hell, I would'nt go if I was comped either.

Carrot top appears on talk shows once in a while. He does the same thing all the time. I have been there a few times. Won some and lost more. I get there in the morning and leave by night. Forget staying in a hotel. Lakers own that territority.

Hit up the spearmint rhino, or sapphire strip clubs man! don't get suckered to the vip tho limo rides are all free from all strip hotels. TAO at the Venetian nightclub is **** awesome, and gambling wise, don't do it, unless ur doing it for the free drinks haha, if your only on a 1000 budget. hit up the bufffets at wynn, and bellaggio, bit pricey tho.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Is anyone went to grand canyon or hoover dam from vegas ? how far are they from vegas ?

Hoover Dam is about 30 minutes from the strip and Grand Canyon is about 3 hours, using a rough (unpaved) road to the West Rim. There might be a better alternative way than this but we usually take the rough road (it's more FUN, but challenging drive) Check it here:

I'm too old for strip clubs and nightclubs so I don't go there anymore. When I go to Vegas these days, I just hike and explore nature. I take my camera gear and hike at Valley of Fire (45 mins from the strip) and Red Rock Canyon (about 30 mins from the strip) You will see AMAZING landscapes and rock formations.

Have fun. Vegas is not all about strip clubs and gambling.
