Gasol was injured in the Lakers' rout of the Mavericks on Sunday. He was examined by Dr. Steve Lombardo on Monday. An ultrasound exam and an MRI showed that Gasol has a "mild-to-moderate strain of the left hamstring," according to the team.
After the Rockets game, Gasol is listed as day to day.

Would be nice to see the same defensive instensity from the Dallas game. I'm can't wait to wtach Landry and Scola and Hayes get offensive rebounds all night against our bigs...

i think ron artest would play. yesterday he said he felt good and it was up to phil, phil said earlier today he's hopeful. they'll decide during the shootaround.

http://my.lakers.com/blogs/2010/01/05/a ... s-rockets/We learned quite a bit after Monday’s practice on the Lakers’ injury front, which kept Lamar Odom (gastrointestinal discomfort) and Pau Gasol (left hamstring strain) out of the building but saw Ron Artest (concussion) return to the fold.
Here’s the update after Lakers shootaround on Tuesday as it relates to L.A.’s game against Houston tonight: Odom participated in shootaround and will play; Artest is expected to play; Gasol will not play.
Artest saw his neurologist on Tuesday morning and was cleared to play, though the pair will reunite prior to the game to make sure everything is go for launch.

Aaron Brooks is the key to this game. If he plays well, the Rockets have a chance otherwise the Lakers win this easily. For some reason Brooks always seem to play his best against the Lakers so i expect a good game.
