The Tao of the Automobile and basketball

I know some of you will not get this but i still want to put it out there ::

I have 5 cars and 5 cars of which i am very fond of. Each of these cars serve a very specific purpose. But i want to put other cars into rotation and just can not figure out how to do it effeciently.

My Mini :: It gets me down the road quickly without wasting lots of time and gas. Very proven perhaps i could get one of those little Toyota tin cans but i really like my Mini because it's proven over the years that it can get the job done, perhaps slowly but done!

My Bugatti Veyron :: This car is no doubt the best car on the road and i have not come across another car that compares to it. No question this one stays in my garage until it simply starts no more.

My 2008 Mercedes S500 AMG V12 ::
This car is not the newest but the most recent addition to my garage and i just love it. Simply a workhorse that provides me the luxury while allowing me to get hard work done while getting me from Westwood to Downtown in traffic slowly but most comfortably.

My 2008 Porsche Cheyenne ::
This car is one of the most incredible i have ever driven and getting rid of it is not even a question however i will say it can easily slide down to take on some of the duties of my 5th car but i'm not sure i want to put the mileage on my Cheyenne, and most importantly not sure i want to put lumber and crap from home depot in the back during my weekend trips to home depot.

My 2009 Range Rover ::
This is certainly one of my favorites because it's one of the few cars i own that i actually bought brand new off the lot, I was the first and only owner. It has come to grow on me and really does a great job of getting me from point a to point b in style. I have had some minor frustrations with it but i just think i may be able to do without it. I go back and forth day to day

My conundrum is the new Land Rover Sport my wife just bought and this car is simply a gem! It's not the perfect auto for anything but it's great at everything. Spacious, Fast, Sporty but a gas guzzler, a bit flashy, draws the attention of "betty's" that only get me in trouble.

I am not here to brag about the many auto's that i keep in my garage but just want a bit of input on what i should do to balance my transportation resources. I have decided to move one of my larger cars but cant decide which one and what to replace it with.

As you can see this is a lot of greenbacks i allocate to the middle east to support my environmental footprint but hey this stable gets me from one playboy party to another and i am sure you all can understand why i need to keep the most efficient stable of automobiles at my disposal but just maybe i make a tweak here or there and i get to make some playboy parties not only in Holmby Hills but a few in Vegas, Aspen, NY and Chicago as well and hopefully at the end of the day dont end up too much in the red!

Please Advise.

Personally I think you should let your buddy in Toronto keep that Land Rover Sport and you ride that Range Rover into the dirt. Usuallly when they get those initial break downs fixed, those things will run hard for a long time.

Don't forget that Mercedes G Wagon you lent to the Kardashians, I know it drives a little inconsistently sometimes, and it works for some crowds and not for others, but that thing really does a lot, carries a lot of load, never breaks down, and usually comes through when you need it.

Oh yeah if you can, try and find a Nissan GT-R to take over for that Mini, or at least let that Tesla you got hidden in the garage be the primary, man that thing is all electric energy and zip. I know its handling is a tiny bit squirly, but damn can it fly.

Umm.. Toyota tin cans? None of those overpriced pos will last longer than the Toyota "tin cans".

Are you comparing the 5 cars to our starting five? If so, I don't get it.

That car you park outside in the drive way would be inside the garage if it were any other house!

I think he is using the cars as metaphors for our line-up

Mini = D.Fish ... He gets down the court quickly without wasting lots of time and energy. Very proven perhaps i could get one of those little nate robinson type but i really like D.fish because he's proven over the years that it can get the job done, perhaps slowly but done!

My Bugatti Veyron = Kobe = This guy is no doubt the best player on the court and i have not come across another player that compares to him. No question he stays on the roster until he simply can't do it physically anymore.

My 2008 Mercedes S500 AMG V12 = R-Test = He is not the newest but the most recent addition to the team and i just love him. Simply a workhorse that provides me the luxury while allowing the team to get hard scrapping done while getting at guys hard from one end of the court to the other.

My 2008 Porsche Cheyenne = Pau = He is one of the most incredible players i have ever seen and getting rid of him is not even a question however i will say he can easily slide down to take on some of the duties of my 6th man but i'm not sure i want to put the mileage on Pau, and most importantly not sure i want to put the scrapping on his shoulders,

My 2009 Range Rover = Drew = This is certainly one of my favorites because it's one of the few we have that we actually drafted, We are his first ans only team. He has come to grow on me and really does a great job of taking on a load. We have had some minor frustrations with him but i just think i may be able to do without him. We go back and forth day to day

My conundrum is the new Land Rover Sport = L.O. = He just got married is simply a gem! He's not the perfect player for anything but he's great at everything. Big, Fast, Sporty but a gas guzzler, a bit flashy, draws the attention of ref's that only get him in trouble.

....... This is my take on the post ... makes sense no?

i opened this thread expecting some vtb-style nonsense, something about how kobe is like a prius, because a prius is like bamboo: it bends but does not break. The kobeprius has the essence of the samurai and drive of a ninja, the bushido warrior spirit instilled by the dharma sensei and the dalai lama in the downtown hoops dojo overseen by el maniaco

I think the Mini is getting too old and you have put a lot of wear on it, don't drive it that much anymore or just drive it only when you simply NEED too. I think a Lotus would be a great replacement. Exotic looks, quick and nimble as hell, turns heads, plus they have Toyota engines so they will be reliable for years to come. I just hope that in a couple of years when warranty is out, that it doesn't become to expensive to keep. Next thing you know your Lotus will end up in Oakland or even worse Houston.
