Look I got nothing but love for this guy. I rep him and his jersey and I want to see him succeed here in LA, but for a guy that basically got man handled twice by LeCrab he has no room to talk. Now this B.S.
http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... ut_lebron/He then adds this garbage like WTF cares about N.Y or anything that has to do with N.Y. Worry about the team your playing for the people who are defending your stupid arse and are paying your bills. Skip N.Y and Lebron.
WOW.
"No disrespect to Cleveland, but we need some star power here in New York," he added. "We need some legit star power, so I can come down and beat up on 'em. We still need some star power here in New York. We need one of those big-time players to come here and get a great team, and when the Lakers play the Knicks, we beat 'em by like 40 or 50 points. It would be great hopefully one day to see a New York-L.A. championship. I don't have any power to do that, but it would be nice."

he is just rooting for his hometown team. I actually see nothing wrong with being a fan of the team you grew up being a fan of.
that is one of the reasons I hate Paul Pierce because he grew up a Lakers fan, but now he hates the Lakers and claims he was just a fan of Magic. that just rubs me the wrong way.

I find nothing wrong with him. Don't overreact. A good NEW YORK team is good for the league. You can't deny that. What artest is saying makes sense. The 40-50 point part was obviously in a joking tone.
The whole Cavs scks without a lebron thing while not entirely true, that's what all teh Cavs Mods and their Fans try to force down our throat. "Lebron achieves 'more with less' than kobe. Kobe wins cus he has a better supporting class. Lebron for MvP forever." /barf
The lakers have an AMAZING coaching staff and I think we have a plan for Lebron. He made those 20-30 footers on us. Again and again. WE WANT Lebron to shoot like that. We just didn't expect him to make all of it. On Artest, on Odom, on anyone.

I find, he needs to do more of this. The guy has been too tame since coming to the Lakers, I want to see the talk **** Artest, the get mad and play some super shut you down defense. As someone said here on RealGM, the guy has been a walking coma.

No need to name call anyone, LeBron is a great player which is probably why you have a problem with this. The only thing wrong with what Artest said is that we already know this much.

well he is wrong about cleveland being nothing without lebron. that is a tough nosed defensive team with great shooters, especially from range. although i think everyone will agree that they wouldn't be as good without him,but that goes for every team that has a superstar. Secondly tony i don't see nothing wrong with him rooting for the team he grew up on. It's just normal.

What? all he said is NY needs a superstar like Lebron, and said Clevland would be nothing without him. Which is truth. That's respect for Lebron, not talking smack.

Yeah that's what he has a problem with, its wrong to give props to LeBron...I guess

The Knicks just got beat by 50 today by the Mavs....I would say they need a little star power.

I don't see how this warrants the WTH is wrong with Artest question mark times 4 title.
By the way, WTF cares about New York? Probably the 9 million people that live there. It's a great city. So I hate their sports teams, I have no reason to trash the place.

Haaa, so you analyzed my post and my problem simply cause I called Lebron Lecrab. WOW YOUR GOOD.
But if you read the article I posted, thats not why I have a problem with Artest, this is why I have a problem with Artest or Lecrab.
Thats if you actually took the time and read the article DOC which in this case you didnt.
"If you take LeBron off that team, no. They're not. They're nothing. Not that they're nothing, they're still human beings. But you take him off that team, no. I guess that's why they got me, to take him out of the game. [Thursday] it didn't work. They got us this year, so all we can do is move on from that and see what happens in the playoffs."
And that goes for everybody else that quoted my post.
Ron needs to shut his mouth and stop drawing attention to himself, he needs to do what we are paying him to do and according to himself thats why we brought him here. So not only is he not doing his job but he is worried about N.Y. Who cares about N.Y as far as their team is concerned or Lebron for that matter. He plays for the Lakers, not N.Y.
Magicontinues wrote:What? all he said is NY needs a superstar like Lebron, and said Clevland would be nothing without him. Which is truth. That's respect for Lebron, not talking smack.
And your the last one on this board to come to his defense, your his biggest critic/hater on this board and now all of a sudden cause I posted this thread you come to his defense.
Like I said if you read the article then you would understand my point.
Artest is running his mouth and claiming that the Cavs are nothing without Lebron, okay but for now they are the same team that everyone else other than Lebron that wooped our arse both on Christmas day by 15 points and Lebron had 28 points, so where did the rest of the points come from and last week when Lecrab abused him for 37 points with his patethic 8points performance. So my point is why is he going out of his way and criticizing the rest of the team when he is the one that sucks.

Maybe Artest should stop running his mouth because clearly he is only motivating Lebron. Considering we lost both games to Cle and Lebron lit Artest up in both games, it is probably best to focus on winning instead. I know this is who Artest is and he will always have these crazy talks, but he should not be giving Lebron anymore extra motivation. We brought Artest here to D up Lebron and the Paul Pierce, clearly Artest cannot guard Lebron and lets see how he does against Pierce this Sunday.

Tony, we all read the article, bro. We just don't see what the big deal is lol. Maybe there is something wrong with Artest but from saying the Cavs are nothing without LeBron doesn't lead anyone to think so but you. Yes that team plays well together because Danny Ferry did a great job of putting key role players around LeBron that compliment his games...with that said if you take LeBron off that team then there best player is Mo Williams and that team wouldn't be considered a contender...therefore they would be nothing.
Tony, I'm a huge Magic J fan so when I was growing up I disliked Jordan, not because he was "overhyped" or anything but because he was a legit threat to Magic, I think you feel that way about LeBron because you are a Kobe fan. LeBron and Kobe are the 2 most entertaining players, how could a real sports fan dislike either.

Again you didnt read my post or where it was directed to. Take Lecrab out of the Cavs and add a decent player then I would consider them a playoff team, contenders NO.
I dont see why you keep picking at that since AGAIN thats not my problem since I have explained it several times. My problem is with Artest and his idiotic remarks right after he got his arse handed to him by Lecrab.
stu_sutcliffe wrote: Yes that team plays well together because Danny Ferry did a great job of putting key role players around LeBron that compliment his games...with that said if you take LeBron off that team then there best player is Mo Williams and that team wouldn't be considered a contender...therefore they would be nothing.
Like I said, as far as the remark about the rest of the team, Artest doesnt need to add any attention to himself and the reason I said that their team stepped up on Christmas as well as week ago and ours didnt. Your picking at my post as if thats what Im upset about.
stu_sutcliffe wrote: Tony, I'm a huge Magic J fan so when I was growing up I disliked Jordan, not because he was "overhyped" or anything but because he was a legit threat to Magic, I think you feel that way about LeBron because you are a Kobe fan. Again you are wrong. EVERYONE ON REALGM knows Im not a Kobe fan. In fact before you were around I was one of the most outspoken posters that was cool with Kobe leaving the Lakers. I could careless about both Lecrab or Kobe.
This is how wrong you are. You claiming you hated Jordan because he was a treat to Magic, WELL I liked both players their games their styles but in that era even though I was a Laker fan my favorite player was and will always be Barkley NOT MAGIC NOT JORDAN.
And another reason your wrong, Im more an Artest fan than I am of Kobe or anyone else on the Lakers or any other team. Now look at the resembalance of Barkely and Artes. Both are great defenders, both talk smack, both never back down and they bring their A game every game every night. Im one of Artest biggest supporters so when I address this its not because of Kobe or Lecrab and I cant believe how you keep directing my post towards these two players when Im addressing my frustration on my favorite player.
Like I said brah, you got it twisted.

I never said it was a fact that you dislike James because you like Kobe, I said I think that's the reason...so its not, my bad. You're still calling him LeCrab though, any reason why?
Tony, ok so you're not a huge Kobe fan but from my short time here I've seen you say nothing but positive things about him so that led me think you were a fan, my bad again.
My initial take basically was on why you called him LeCrab. That's really all I wanna know.
As far as the whole Artest thing, so you're saying since he was lit up minutes before his interview that he shouldn't give him props, I disagree there. Obviously you have your own opinion but that doesn't mean Artest said anything wrong, his timing was good too, after the game you discuss those things.

Stu you dont know me well enough, I say it as I see it. Unlike most posters on realgm that just move with the flow Im not one of those posters and your putting to much time and effort into why I dislike Lecrab and your taking this thread into a different direction than what the topic is about. I dont dislike Lecrab becuase of Kobe or anyone else. He is a great player and he will be in the H.O.F and he will win a lot of titles. He is by far a great player in my book. The best in the game, not at all. Better than Jordan........... NOT EVEN CLOSE, better than Kobe, NOT YET and it will be a while.
BUT
I dispise him and his fan base because he is overly hyped, he is classless because of all the dancing singing and running ish in other peoples face. Also walking off the court when they lost to the Magic without showing a good sportsmanship, the whole dunk video that Nike took away, the fact that he travels everytime he touches the ball, for a big guy he whines everytime he doesnt get a call and so on and so on. So these are my reasons why I call him Lecrab.
stu_sutcliffe wrote:Tony, ok so you're not a huge Kobe fan but from my short time here I've seen you say nothing but positive things about him so that led me think you were a fan, my bad again.
Nah brah, I think you got me confused for someone else. I give props where props is due. If I have ever defended Kobe and I have many times, it was because of all the D.B that always bring up his rape case. Thats about it. I dont defend him or root for him. I root for the Lakers not Kobe and every vet poster on here knows that Im not a player homer, Im a basketball fan.
stu_sutcliffe wrote:My initial take basically was on why you called him LeCrab. That's really all I wanna know.
Okay.

Again my beef with Artest is he isnt doing and performing as I or anyone else expected him to do. Plain and simple. Not only is he lacking what we all expected of him but he is running his mouth and drwaing negative attention towards himself as well as this team, which we are all trying to avoid. Plus with me, if your going to talk ish then backup your ish talking. He isnt doing that, he got burned by Lecrab in two games and then he sits in front of the media and draws attention to his own failures. He should be embarrassed since Lecrab did abuse him pretty badly in both games and he publically did say "I was brought to LA for players like Lebron and Paul P. Well he failed with Lecrab now lets see what he does with Paulin when we play the Celtics.
Also who cares about N.Y Knicks or where Lecrab ends up. Artest plays for LA and he is getting paid to play in LA, he isnt the spokes person for Lecrab or the NBA. How about focusing your energy and yourself on your teammates and teams success and not anyone else.

I think what Ron said wasn't a big deal. He DID say we'll beat them by 50 points right?
