LAL trying to unload sasha to CHI for Hinrich

That the Lakers are looking to unload Luke Walton and Sasha to Portland in a salary dump.

I don't see how that can happen if we are both over the cap, which I think we both are right? We'd have to get something in return right?

Blazers GM isn't stupid, I doubt anything will happen in regards to Portland-LA talks.

I'm willing to bet that Mitch called Portland and KP quickly declined. Quite honestly, the way salaries are set up on Portland's roster, we'd probably have to give up more talent in expirings than we'd get in return.

Only thing that makes any sense would be Sasha for Webster for long term contract length. Webster is pretty much the only long term deal they have that I can see them moving for any reason, unless they decided to part ways with Miller. But as much as I love Andre, he doesn't fit the triangle at all...

Would be a nice move for us if it happened, but I don't see Allen or Pritchard as guys who would cut a year or two of contract off for that...

Rumor seems really out of place imo.

Lets be real RealGM didn't report anything. They posted a snip of Yahoo Sport's article and left out that the Blazers are concentrating more on bringing in a center.

So this whole Luke and Sasha to Portland is just speculation that most likely isn't going to happen by the Blazers.

If anything, the Lakers are trying to find a suitor to take on Luke and Sasha and Portland was one mentioned but Portland is looking for a big man as reported and conveniently left out by RealGM.

Good job RealGM. Next time, do some better reporting yeah?

Sure it would be nice to get Miller. With Kobe needing more rest and Fisher getting older. The Lakers might need Luke and Sasha down the stretch to play minutes. 3 team might work. Just one of those Sunday All Star writers who is not at the game and had to report something to his or her writer I bet kind of story.

Cavs get Admar. They are sure locks to go a long way. Scary.

I remember last year Ariza was able to defend Iverson well. We don't necessarily need a PG to stop our weakness, but a sg or even a sf like Ariza to defend the quicker guards.

I was hoping Shannon Brown would take that defensive assignment this year.

Just fun to think of some trades. Gives Laker fans something to do. Shannon, you blew the dunk contest. Need a little more gimick in the contest. Should have used the cheerleaders.

On 710 ESPN for weeks, one of the djs came up with the idea of Odom bringing out the 3 Kardasian sisters and Shannon would have to jump over them. That would have been funny to watch but lame at the same time.
Spiro Dedes even interviewed Shannon on the very same idea. Too bad Shannon didn't use it.

Well, maybe if Shannon used Kim's ass as a stepping stool and lefted off, that would be even funnier.

Here’s something else to watch: The Portland Trail Blazers were telling teams over the weekend they had a chance to acquire Los Angeles Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic(notes) and wondered whether teams might have an interest in obtaining him. This prompted several executives to suggest the Blazers were working on a three-team trade, including one Eastern Conference general manager who had been told the elements of the package included Thomas and Vujacic to Portland, the Bulls’ Kirk Hinrich(notes) to Los Angeles and the Lakers’ Adam Morrison(notes), another expiring deal and a first-round pick to the Bulls.

“What has, or will kill this,” one GM said, “is that Portland just won’t take Vujacic on.”

The Lakers guard is owed $5.5 million next season.

Good to see Mitch Kupchak being active as the trade deadline draws near. Hopefully he can pawn off Vujacic/Morrison for a productive role player, if not Hinrich.

On a side note, take this second part with a grain of salt. But supposedly AM570 radio has reported that Lakers have shown interest in Detroit Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince as well as a Milwaukee combo package of Luke Ridnour/Kurt Thomas. The Pistons proposal would give the Lakers with a valuable defensive contributor off the bench while the latter package would provide the Lakers with veteran support as well as cap relief. In both scenarios, Lakers would offer shooter Sasha Vujacic and the expiring contract of Adam Morrison. However, future 1st round draft picks would need to be included for the Pistons or Bucks to take respective offers seriously.

EDIT (2/15/10 @ 2:30 P.M.): I am not the writer of the Prince quote. Can't believe my post on RealGM is actually being quoted as a source by different Laker sites/forums. The origin of the Prince rumor can be traced back to Lakers Topbuzz, which ironically is quoting my post as their source now.

Problem is nobody will trade an expiring for Vujacic, so it has to be somebody on a two year... like Banks for instance... and that kills it for both Portland and Chicago.

Plus, now that it's in the papers Mitch will back off. He has already said in interview that if a deal goes public he's out.

Damn Sasha, killing LA without even playing.

As a Blazer fan I can say with confidence that the Blazers will not take on either Sasha or Luke...not a chance

here's a deal I'd consider though:
