I really want Dallas to pick that 3rd seed up. I don't want see any part of either them or Denver before the west finals.

Ideally, I think we'd want Dallas at the #2 seed and the Nuggets at #3. The Nuggets aren't a very good road team and I think Dallas can take them out in the 2nd round.

Likewise, should Utah or San Antonio meet us in the semi's then I have no doubt we can take them out with relative ease.

That leaves us with Dallas in the WCF and quite frankly I think we have a better shot at beating them than the Nuggets.

Barring an upset though, we'll definitely be going up against either Denver or Dallas, and possibly both. Really, getting past both would have us well prepared for the Cavs or Magic, so maybe it's best that we actually go through the toughest road so we can stay on our toes. It would make a title all the more satisfying if we go through the toughest possible road, but we need to toughen up if we expect to seriously win another championship -- especially if we go up against "Tough Juice".

Regarding this game, this should be an easy win. No excuses. Play tough.

Word of the day: Tough

Why isn't Kobe in the starting lineup?

cut down on turnovers, and this game is a given...

go into chuck mode and 76ers get on the break, and we might be in for a tight one

I just hope it's not going to be a reenactment of our last game against the Sixers with Iggy out of all people drilling a 3 to beat us.

Isn't the game Philly @ Lakers?

Or is it just a real late start in Philly?

I agree. And as well as I think we play them usually, Utah is a pain and they are playing really well right now. Don't let that last game fool you, a 5am back to back with the allstar break next day is a trap for any team. We struggled with the a bit last year and they are healthier and better this year. Its just playing with fire a little bit to play the same team 3 years in a row. Even though I would love to see Dallas and Denver duke it out, I wouldn't mind watching Utah do the same and play Dallas. The Mavs would make a tough series, but I donn't think they can beat us 4 times, especially without HC. They are still a jump shooting team and I think we adjust our D a little and they are toast.

I'm from the old school on this subject. Like Magic used to say with the Show Time Lakers, line them up, I don't care who they are.

Dallas will possibly have the #2 seed by mid March. There schedule favors them and Denver & Utah have more back to back games.

Back to Back games left:
Dallas 3
Denver 7
Utah 7

Ideally I'd want OKC in round 1. Good team but Artest and Kobe to put on Durant and they have no one on their roster to defend our bigs.

2nd Round Utah: They can't beat us more than once.

WCFs: Dallas/Denver or whoever else has proved to be the 2nd best in the West. This should be a solid series.

what is wrong with this team, they need to NOT let teams dictate tempo...ive seen in the close games, or even the losses , oppositions seem to know how to disrupt our game, and we let them, it seems that with phil jackson teams, if they can disrupt our flow and rythm then they can cause all sorts of havoc, this team, mostly, is a high precision machine, but it can be derailed easily, it seems. and that is the lakers mission is to not let that happen...or figure out a plan b.

the 6'ers scare me, for these reasons.

Sweeet GT Big Game ! Now let's put in work on the Sixers. I like the comments I heard from Ron-Ron, he says the team is disappointed that they haven't shown what they really are yet. Seems like they can sense the home stretch.

I expect a blowout win, Sixers won't be disciplined enough to keep up with LA.
