http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/ ... s_release/would you accept him if he would somehow end up with the lakers? i think he would be a good fit
- playoff expierence
-big/clutch shooter
- solid defender
basically he can be Vujacic's re4placed from two years ago

Hate to break this to you but Sasha is a better player.

I would personally prefer us getting someone younger and more athletic. I think we are really missing Ariza's raw athleticism a lot this season. But Finley sounds like the ideal Phil Jackson type of player.

If the Spurs waived him, that should already give you an answer....

This. If he can't get minutes between a run down Ginobli, a useless Jefferson and gets waived after Roger Mason's trade, what is he worth to us?

With Luke out for who knows how long and Sasha out another week plus. Lakers could use a extra player for the last 20-25 games. Phil loves big guards, he is 6 foot 7. I know he is around 37. It is a short term deal that could pay off. What is to loose. Seems if the Lakers would sign him. It could be a win win thing. Anything is better than Luke or Sasha and he would add just a little extra to the Lakers.

Spurs allowed him to leave because he knew that he could pick up minutes on another contender. It wasn't because he was an awful player.

lol at these annual March 1st So and So got brought out/waived so lets sign him because he's our missing piece to the title thread.
Lets def sign Finley because he has the Mavs playbook down cold and he'll intimidate Lebron in the finals with his 80 years experience. Who else got waived? Trevis Diener? Lets go get him too because he's the PG we have been looking for. Jason Kidd, Billups, Mo Williams better watch out!

I don't think Finley is being viewed as the missing piece for any team. He's just going to be a complementary piece. Maybe an 8th or 9th man.

probably not too bad, but why not take hughes who also guards point guards better than the current guards do?

Bingo. It's just a classy move by the Spurs to give him a chance to play somewhere.
The spurs core players are old, so they want young fresh legs coming off the bench and being the role players, for speed. The lakers have a young core (compared to the Spurs, and sans Fisher), so veteran leadership off the bench would be a bonus.
