Just thought i'd throw on off topic intellectual subject on the board.

Growing up did you guys every wonder how if a woman had 7 children at once she had septuplets, the prefix sept means 7 but yet September is called the 9th month?

The same goes for the next month, An octagon has 8 sides, an octopus has 8 arms, & the prefix octa means 8. Yet October is the tenth month? So on & so forth with Nov (9) & Dec (10).

You ever notice the "New Year" we were taught comes when everything is dead, cold & in the dead of cold? Well the Gregorian calendar we use is off by 2 months. The true New Year comes with the vernal equinox which just happened over this past weekend, when spring time comes in which signifies "new life". I won't bore you guys with a lot of computer geek stuff just wanted to say happy "true" new year to you guys. Dicuss if you'd like.

Teach'em Ankle, I knew about this long time ago. Some how we got stuck using the Georgian calendar, many don't know it was also another they used.

Interesting, the Indian new year was like a week ago too.

If I had 7 kids at one time. I would have to work 24 hours a day. I would need one of those crappy reality shows to pay me. Maybe I say they are not mine. There are all YOURS...lol

There used to be 10 months. Then they added July (Julius Caesar) and August (for Augustus).

There were always 12 months. Each month had 30 days. That 2 extra months is not actually correct. Those were the last 2 months they named & yes you are right, the previous calendar was the Julian (Julius Ceaser) calendar. He is also responsible for the letter "J". Yep he created that on his own. "J" is actually a bogus letter. Just an "I" bent over like they have done so many of us on "true" knowledge. It has only been in use for the past 300 + years & was created about 600 + years ago.

The original calendar was called the holy solar calendar. 12 months, all 12 having 30 days in each month. Now back when I was in school I asked all my teachers why did we switch calendars & they said this one is easier to understand. Now you tell me what's easier 12 months with all having 30 days apiece? Or 12 months with some having 30, some 31, & one have 28 & when it feels like it 29? I'll stop there but I can even give some enlightenment on "leap year"

Actually the Persian New year is on March 21st, same as my B-day. First day of spring and the Persian New Year and my Bday. Thats why IM SO SPECIAL.............. DONT HATE.
