Kobasew traded for Weller and Fallstrom

Post#1 » by Celtics_Champs » Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:17 pm

Are Weller, and Fallstrom good? I really don't get this deal. Like I said on the bruins board, I can speculate they're trying to clear up cap space to land a name, but I won't get my hopes up.

Weller's 28 and has only 95 NHL games under his belt. Really an emergency callup.

Assuming you're still in Boston, you can go watch Fallstrom, he's playing at Harvard this year. From what I've read about him, he can be a decent second liner.

I just really don't get this from Minnesota's POV. Yeah, Kobasew's good and you're thin up front, but you're a terrible team heading nowhere this year and Kobasew is only signed through next year. So unless they plan on going for it next year then it makes no sense to give up two prospects for him.
