Thats pretty much the biggest part: he lead the league in scoring at 19. As for his actual abilities, he has great vision on the ice to go along with an almost supernatural ability to make plays. He can bang on the boards and throw a few hits around, he scores on a high percentage of his shots, and he isn't a liability on the defensive end like some offensive superstars. Its actually harder to find weaknesses in his game than anything else

Why do people on the guy so much? He lead a boud team to the playoff's and turned that franchise around. He lead the league in points at 19 years old with no superstar wingers. Put him with Ottawa, Detroit or any high powered offense and he will get like 130 points a season easy.

And he, by himself, got the Pittsburgh Penguins a new arena.

It's good that he's living up to the hype, the NHL needed a face to put their stamp on and they've got it and more.

If Crosby played in the Early-mid Gretzky era, he'd be better than him. As far as all around game goes, he may be the best i've ever seen and he's not even 20 years old. He just needs to shoot a little more, and he'll be a 50 goal scorer no problem.

He's a great face for the NHL. Not a bad looking kid, very polite and smart when speaking ect.. And look at all that hardware already.

Crosby is good but he has 3 other top 2 picks on his team: MAlkin Staal and Fleury. Ovechkin does not have any good players on his team maybe semin but not the quality Crosby has.

Backstrom will be there this year. Can you imagine a Ovechkin-Backstrom-Semin line :o

How come these topics always turn into a Crosby-Ovechkin debate? Next season, when Ovechkin has Backstrom and Crosby still has more hardware at the end of the season, will it finally end?

Weren't Crosby's linemates, Recchi and Gary Roberts? Two 90 year old men.
