Canucks Resign Bieksa, 5 Years 23 Million

Defenceman Kevin Bieksa has agreed to terms on a new five-year, $23 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

The deal will pay the blueliner $4.6 million per season, and also includes a no-trade clause.


He could of gotten a lot more in free agency but this is a good deal for sides. Bieksa gets to stay in Vancouver and the Canucks retain one of their best d-men.

Which means Wisniewski would probably get in between that and Brewer's 4 mill per. I really hope PG decides to re-sign him if it was around 4.5 mill for the cap hit. Even if Markov goes down again, we'd still have PK/Wiz/Gorges/Gill/Weber/Spacek to go with, which is a really good defense corps still.

Canucks got the home town discount here, he would have gotten over $5M on the open market
