Wow. Sergei Kostitsyn to Nashville for Dustin Boyd and Dan Ellis. ****ing beautiful trade. Got our potential back up goalie and Boyd is a kid waiting to break out, in my opinion. I never understood why Calgary traded him to begin with.

Dang it you beat me to it, haha. The deal is:

Montreal trades Sergei Kostitsyn & Future considerations

Nashville trades Dan Ellis, Dustin Boyd & Future considerations

Not gonna lie, I like this trade a LOT right now.

Same man. PG got a ridiculous return for a guy who was never going to come back, regardless.

Future considerations are a future pick from Nashville if we can't sign Ellis, ditto for them is they can't resign Sergei. Love it.

I saw it on Twitter in the #habs feed really quick. Probably 7th rounder swaps or whatever as future considerations.

That's a very solid deal for Montreal.

Ehhhhhhhhh.

Now Dekanich probably takes over as backup and Pickard takes over as the #1 in Milwaukee with Jeremy Smith backing him up.

Who, who and who?

I guess I could google, but then again it is 2:36am... meh. The Preds are pretty set with Rinne in net, so long as he doesn't get injured.

Well Ellis is gone, so they need a backup goalie. So the #1 goalie Mark Dekanich from Milwaukee moves to backup goalie in Nashville, Dekanich's backup Chet Pickard moves to #1 goalie in Milwaukee and Jeremy Smith who was in the ECHL moves to backup in Milwaukee.

How's Kostitsyn's offense? Something Nashville desperately needs.

Blue Jackets took Etah Moreau off the Oilers hands today. Thats 2 million cleared off our cap number, now we just need someone to take Horcoff off our hands.

Oilers traded Patrick O'Sullivan to the Coyotes for Jim Vandermeer. We save a bit of money and get a D-man that should play every night for us. But why didn't we just buy out O'Sullivan or let someone take him off waivers and then clear his entire salary from the books?

Inconsistent. My friend actually calls him and his less useless brother The Inkonstitsyns.

And he's a spoiled little **** would will start pouting and throwing tantrums if he doesn't get his way or his coach gives him a lecture on something. Good luck with him.

Article is in french, but you can use google translator. Ellis basically says he'd sign in Montreal for 2 years/4 million dollars. If I'm Mtl, I jump all over that and get it done.

Also, the Flyers just signed Michael Leighton to a 2 year/3.1M contract

Not sure how accurate that is. McKenzie tweeted saying Ellis is going to the market tomorrow.

Lebrun also said he (Ellis) never put out a figure for what he would sign for.

How come the Oilers waived Nilsson? He had a pretty good rookie season. Former 1st rounder. I'd hope Shero takes a look at him. I didn't watch him play when he played at Wilkes-Barre.

Nilsson is awful, he plays no defense at all and he's an average offensive player at the best. He's also pretty frail, the guy missed two straight games due to dizzyness last year. So in conclusion please take him off our hands ASAP.

The Blackhawks have traded right wing Kris Versteeg and left wing Bill Sweatt to Toronto for forwards Viktor Stalberg, Philippe Paradis and Christopher DiDomenico.

Great trade for Chicago. I love Stalberg and I think DiDomenico will turn out to be a good player. That's high praise coming from someone who despises the Queefs. :P

WEFFPIM needs to change his pants. Then he's throwing a party.

I cannot tell you how glad I am Kris Versteeg is gone
