That was an absolute bomb.

And the boos starting raining down from HP Pavilion.

Couldn't see as much of this game as I wanted to because Versus was blacked out until the Hawks game was over, but the Ducks and Sharks are relatively similar in terms of style of play, but I thought the Sharks' firepower would put them over the top. I guess not for Game 1.

Was what Keith Engblom just said true? The Ducks are 40% on their power plays here lately? That's asinine.

I just don't get the Sharks. :nonono:

Joe Thornton didn't get his first shot on goal until a minute left in the game.

With the exception of one postseason, that's a running trend it seems with Mr. Thornton

So, I was out tonight but saw the very tail end of the Blues-Canucks game. Anyone know why the Canucks bench was outraged at the end of the game?

^^Nope, pretty surprised they aren't choking yet though. Didn't think they had the makeup of a good playoff team.

Calgary has to win tonight, the pressure they are going to feel at home being down 2-0 will be to much. Rangers vs. Washington should be a great game to watch side by side with Chicago vs. Boston to.

Some good competition this first round.

Varlamov was amazing and Ovechkin continues to be Chokevechkin in the playoffs. It won't be long until he starts getting put in the same sentence as Average Joe Thornton.

The Caps/Rangers series just shows once again how critical it is to have an elite goaltender in the playoffs. Playoffs are all about goaltending and role players chipping in. Lundqvist is right up there with Brodeur and Luongo and he is just shutting down the Capitals. Varlamov was great today too but with the way Lundqvist is playing, it doesn't matter. Hot goaltending can carry you all the way.

Varlamov was great, Lundqvist was a little bit better.

That series is all but over.
