Blackhawk players are rightly pissed at how many people are leaving the team, according to TSN.

They should be pissed at Tallon for signing Campbell and Huet to those contracts. Go to capgeek.com and see how bad of a situation they are still in. They have like 4 mil left to spend and only have 13 players signed right now. Niemi and Hjalmarsson still need new contracts.

I also love what Darren Pang said about Kariya on TSN. Hopefully he is watching and takes that advice.

Yeah, I love Kariya. Still hope Montreal tries to go after him because he'd be one helluva boost to our team and would battle for 2nd line. Still hope the Habs are in on Torres, too.

Above all else, I just want news that Price and Lapierre are resigned.

Andrew Raycroft just got signed by Dallas too. 2 year deal.

I think Kariya would be a perfect fit with Crosby and Kunitz. I still think he has a big season left in him and this could get him a nice final contract next offseason. If Shero can manage this, their top 2 lines would be:

Kunitz-Crosby-Kariya
Staal-Malkin-Possibly Tangradi

And with there defense now, I'd have to say they would be the favorites to win.

Bobby Ryan rejected 25/5 contract from Anaheim.

He wants 3 years, they want 5. Can't blame them either.

What is going on in Calgary? They use all their cap space too bring back two players (Tanguay and Jokinen) who were just awful fits on their team. How does Darryl Sutter still have a job this dude is clueless.

I didn't see many Thrashers games last year, thoughts on Colby Armstrong? I'm mostly looking at highlights and what not, seems to have a good nose for goal, solid checker and not afraid to rough it up, but $3M per season sounds a bit steep.

I hear he rejected that offer, then Anaheim came back with 4 years at $5.25 per year and he rejected that as well.

Yeah, Armstrong is overpaid by $1 mill dollars. He played on top lines in Atlanta and Pittsburgh and put up crappy numbers, except this year, he was on Atlanta's 3rd line. He only hits players when they aren't looking. And he's not a good fighter.

Image - Kubina will earn $4.2 million next season and $3.5 million in 2011-12.

Image - Alex Steen got a 4 year from St. Louis with a yearly cap hit of $3,362,500.

Is Kubina enough to vault Tampa Bay back in the playoffs?

Also, the Edmonton Oilers have put Sheldon Souray on waivers. I wasn't expecting that.

Oilers put Sheldon Souray on waivers today, feel bad that it had to end this way. He's a good local guy that wanted to play here but things just didn't work out and I have to say its mostly the Oilers fault.

The Predators just signed Matthew Lombardi to a 3 year 10.5 million dollar deal. Great pickup for the Preds at a very reasonable price.

Perfect replacement for Arnott.

Honestly, if Montreal was unable to re-sign Pleks, I would've wanted them to go after Lombardi. I still think he got a tad overpaid though.

I really don't think 3.5 million a season is too much for Lombardi. He's a legit top 6 forward who can get 60-70 points a season, I think its a real steal for the Preds.

They have a whopping 3.6 million left. As you said, the Huet and Campbell contracts are absolute killers. I mean Campbell is making 7 million through 2016....good god.

They have 3 lines and 2 defensive pairings worth of players right now...and im not sure John Scott is a top-4 defenseman or Viktor Stalberg a third line winger.

Should be very interesting to watch how they maneuver it....though i foresee a team with little depth in Chicago. It seems Seabrook could be a goner after next year too, he is going to want a nice raise.

Huet being sent to the minors would wipe out $5 million, so expect to see that.

I didn't remember that but i did hear that somewhere a while ago...

In that case i would say its a certainty. They gotta throw out some deals and 5 mill. for a backup goalie is not going to cut it
