Atlanta mayor said "We'll be fine without the Thrashers."

Certainly doesn't sound like there's any chance of them going back to Atlanta.

Don't really want to make a new thread for this so I'll put it here.

A group wants to bring an NHL team to Seattle. Problem is Key Arena only holds 11,000 for hockey and the only other place I can think of around the area is Tacoma Dome and I have no idea how much that holds for hockey.

I think somewhere in the Pacific Northwest would be a great market for hockey. Would give a natural rival to Vancouver and is a completely untapped NHL market.

I've always wondered why the NHL never tried to put a team in Seattle or Portland. Both are big cities with successful junior teams and the fan base seems to be there.

Guessing Atlanta lawyers signed the paper work so it's a done deal and the press conference is officially announcing it.

They're apparantley not naming the team the Jets. Makes absolutely no sense. Everyone wants the Jets!

Heard a couple suggestions, nothing official though. Winnipeg Falcons was one the other was just keeping the name Manitoba Moose from the AHL team.

Conferences will stay the same for this year, but rumors abut the Wings headin to the East and Winnipeg to the West in 2012/13 are bound to pick up. Personally I would be very happy for it

I'd love to see the Wings move into the east.

Well the deal's finally done and at 170 million they got a pretty good price. Can't believe they're not going to name them the Jets through.

And it sounds like the players are pretty happy about the move:
