To be honest with you, I liked it so much better when the Pens sucked. Yeah, it was awesome watching them win the cup last season because it was the first time any team I liked finally won something. I was too young to remember the first cups the Pens won.

Now, I can't even go to games because the people that go to Pens games now are pathetic. They know nothing of the game. They make Crosby and Malkin to be angels who do nothing bad on the ice. It makes me sick.

I loved going to games in 02-03 and 03-04 when the team sucked. The people that went to the games loved the team and they didn't care if the team was no good. We still cheered for the Pens and we went, and talked hockey. We knew what was going on. It was fun. Not so much anymore.

Actually i'm really enjoying the Oilers stinking up the joint (we're officially in last place now!!). This team's been stuck in mediocrity for a long time now and that fluky cup run we made only made things worse. Hopefully we'll get the first overall pick, blow this team up and rebuild the right way. The only guys i'd consider keeping right now would be Smid and Brule and maybe Hemsky only because I still believe that if we put a pure goal scorer next to him he would be unstoppable.

This Kovy to the bruins talk is way too similar to the hossa talk just a few seasons ago. I can't go through another trade deadline like that.

I doubt he gets moved to a team with big salary. If Kovalchuk is moved, it's to a team that has huge cap space and the young players to get it done: Islanders, Kings, etc.

By the way, are you starting to understand why I hate Ryder now? And why I said he's just a watered down Kessell?

Ughhh. There goes the Habs season - Cammalleri took a nasty shot from Volchenkov and his knee bent in a friggin weird way.

Sooner or later the Kings are gonna land one of these big name guys.

I f'n love the kings. I went to the game tonight, and was cheering for the kings. In full bruins gear I was going crazy for Kopitar, Daughty and Quick. I hope they get kovy, I'll hop right on the bandwagon. Funny thing about quick, his sister sat right behind me.

giggy
A source tells ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun that Toronto is set to acquire veteran goalie J.S. Giguere from the Anaheim Ducks, pending his approval and waiving of his no-trade clause. Details to come.

There really isn't any place in Anaheim for Giguere anymore.

Unless Burkie has some other moves planned, I'm not anymore worried about the Queefs than I was at the start of the season. They basically replaced McCabe by getting Phaneuf - an underachieving expensive hitter who is high risk, has a heavy shot, and leaves his partner stranded. A lot.

Giggy trade is only a win because they got rid of Blake's contract. But they were already an embarrassment on offense; now they're traded away even MORE offense for more defense and a goalie?

I hope for Burkie's sake that he has another deal that lands Kessell a center. Burke needz moar truculence.

while i admire the attempts to goad im not going to bite. the year has been disappointing and full of tons of injuries. but we still have a shot at the playoffs and getting Franzen back will help immensely.

thanks for the thoughts though. Im sure your Canadians will be winning championships again in no time

Don't worry; we can use the same excuses. What with Markov, Gionta, Kostitsyn and now Cammalleri all missing significant time.

Excuses are fun.

Whoa...supposedly Kovy turned down 7 years 70 million and 12 years 101 million. The deals would have made him the highest paid player in the NHL. WTF on both sides?!

First, Ilya Kovalchuk much really hate Atlanta. I mean really, really hate Atlanta. You are about to be paid an abusrd amount of money that you arent fully worthy of and you say no??

Second, Atlanta really wanted to make him the highest paid player in the NHL? 101 million? jesus you guys were really desperate huh?

what a mess
