What a tough way for the Wings to lose. Taking nothing away from the Ducks, but what a heartbreaker for the Wings and their fans.

That was just a great play by Marchant. First on the back check and then weaving his way into the zone and a perfectly placed shot in the top right corner.

Hiller was huge as well.

It was brutal. I stayed for all 3 OTs and we absolutely dominated from the third period on. Jonas was insane, he stole multiple goals. Marchants play was quite impressive, yeah.

Im still confident because of how well we played, but man i wanted to see a win

Just turned on the Caps/Pens game. I see Washington is dominating again, up 3-2 late in the game.

Even though the Pens lost, that was an exciting game to watch. I have no nails left. The performances by both Crosby and Ovechkin were amazing. Both players wanted it. I wonder if Malkin realizes these games count?

I really don't like Malkin's body language and laziness he's shown in the last few games. Honestly, if I was the Pens, I'd trade Malkin for the best package available. Buff up the D, and get Sindy more help up front.

Malkin is following nicely in the steps of Joe Thornton. The guy is a certified bum when it matters.

Alex the Greats hatrick > Sid the Squids hatrick. The Penguins aren't good enough to beat the Capitals in 4 out of the next 5. As much as I dislike Sid the Squid, can't deny how epic he has been. Malkin on the other hand...

Malkin disappeared for much of last year's run, too, IIRC.

And yes, GA, Ovechkin's hat trick, in my mind, was better, but Crosby certainly had the best goal out of all of them, the last one he scored.

The NHL really needs to milk the **** out of this series and this rivalry. These are the 2 best players in the NHL, with the potential to have many series' against each other in the future. It's already lived up to the hype after only 2 games.

I wouldn't say Malkin disappears in the playoffs. He has 37 points in 33 career games. He played poorly last year after Mike Richards nailed him into the boards. I personally believe he got hurt. He played a good series last year. I just think Ovechkin is in his head.

It's just not Malkin either. Staal, Kunitz, Sykora, Guerin, Gonchar. These guys need to come play as well.

I still wouldn't trade Malkin. He is a beast. Get him some players to play with. Sykora is washed up and Fedetenko isn't Malone. I'd look at trading Staal and his $4 million cap hit.

So, let me recap for those that didn't see what just happened in Anaheim

1:04 left, 2-1 Ducks. Puck gets turned over behind the Anaheim net, a Wing (sorry, names escape me right now) pushes the puck into Hiller. Puck slides behind him parallel with the goal line and just sits there. Puck is knocked in and THEN the referee blows the whistle because he lost sight of the puck. Play's dead, no goal. Ducks win 2-1.

The Wings got screwed over big time. Like, epically screwed over.

It was Hossa and Watson blew the whistle as the puck was being knocked into the net. Watson is gonna get a lot of flak for this one, but he did the right thing. Ref is supposed to blow the whistle if he loses sight of the puck

If I'm that ref, I never ever show my face in Detroit

I'm sure ajax will be very understanding, calm and collected while discussing this one.

The right call was technically made like MAS said. He couldn't see over Hiller so he lost sight of the puck and blew the whistle just before it was knocked in. Tough break for Detroit, although I don't really care since I hate them. :)

I was very upset last night, that cost us a chance at OT. Ive calmed down now

As MAS says, the ref should call it if he loses sight of it, but it was a pretty quick whistle. Not to mention he was in the wrong position to get a good view; he was on the side of the net and should have been behind the net, where he would have seen the puck.

I won't blame the game squarely on the refs, but frankly it was a very poor call. The play should have continued. We should have scored. It sucks to lose on something silly like that

Oh and Pronger and Perry and the rest of the goons going after Datsyuk and Frannzen at the end showed so much class. Yeah Chris your a real tough guy when you go after non fighters, but i would like to see you drop em with someone who knows what they are doing. Cheap ****s

That pissed me off as much as the goal
