Don't know why The Oil resigned him to that deal it's very questionable for them. at The Flames tweet that was priceless.

Hemsky's been horrible this year and 90% of the time it doesn't even look like he's trying out there. Resigning him is just an awful move in so many different ways. I don't want him around this team and our young players, we should of taken whatever we could of gotten for him and considered it a win.

Some talking heads are making the comment that Edmonton did this because they have a hard enough time convincing quality Free Agents to sign with them. While that may have some merit, you have to think that the exciting style of play and exciting young players would draw the interest of free agents. Seems like an overreaction.

Source tells NHL Home Ice the Predators have offered Colin Wilson, Ryan Ellis, Teemu Laakso and a 1st for Rick Nash.

That doesn't seem too steep considering what Carter reeled in. But school me on the prospects twirls, would you do it?

I'd do it. Ellis is a great prospect, Wilson is good but will never be as good as Nash, Laakso is eh but a defenseman and youngish so he could be a cheap defenseman which we know Columbus needs and the 1st is late in the round.

This also shows Weber and Suter that the Preds are going to spend and go for the Cup.

I've heard that too and in the past it was true but with the young core we have now I have a hard time believing that we couldn't go out and get a player better than Hemsky in free agency.

Eklund sucks, but he put up a rumor today thinking the bruins will go hard after Ott.

Any contender should/would be interested in Ott, and the Bruins have been linked prior, so Eklund is a little late to the party. Interesting to see Canucks put Ballard on LTIR and open up around $4M in cap room.

Really good deal for Ottawa getting Bishop. He was going to be a hot commodity this summer. Losing Anderson hurts, but rolling with Bishop/Auld/Lehner down the stretch isn't as bad as everyone thinks.

Really like the Bishop move for the Sen's too. Bit of gamble but all signs point to him being a solid NHL goalie.

That and they got him signed for $650K for next season so they won't lose him to UFA if he doesn't start 17 games down the stretch.

Andrei Kostitsyn to Nashville for 2013 2nd and the return of the 2013 conditional 5th round pick Nashville got in the Hal Gill trade.

Like the Kostitsyn deal for the Preds but the deadline has been pretty dead so far.

It's Trade Deadline Day!! ....

Post#76 » by Geddy » Mon Feb 27, 2012 5:08 pm

Is anyone on here actually watching the coverage? I am not a hockey fan anymore, but I know people that are and even they think this coverage is overkill (going back to last week when the talk about it started).

It's quite funny seeing these guys on TSN and Sportsnet on their laptops and smartphones trying to be the first ones to break a trade. I hope it's like last year where nothing really happens and they end up hyping it up for nothing.

The trade deadline used to be something to watch before the lockout. A million trades would happen. Now its just an orgy over what moves can possibly happen.

Bob MacKenzie: The Leafs might be obtaining Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf for Nazim Kadri and Luke Schenn

Pierre McGuire: Ohhhhh man thats making my nipples so hard, ust imagine the possibilities for the Leafs first and second line.

Darren Pang: I have the weirdest boner right now

Scott Cullen: lets have a circle jerk

What the balls is Edmonton doing? Tom Gilbert to Minnesota for Nick Schultz.
