 to you for thinking they wont. Name 3 teams in the East who will be worse. The Flyers are the only team i see being worse. Now the West has some teams that could be worse (Blues, Coyotes, Blackhawks).

Vokun is good, Jokinen, Bouwmeester and Horton are good, but after that the team is pretty weak.

They may not the worst, but they will be bad. Dont kid yourself

so your saying the Flyers are going to be the worst team in the East this season?

Caps, Islanders and Bruins will all be worse then the Panthers this season. Florida has a better chance to win its division then they do finishing as the worst team in the league. No there team isnt weak after the headliners, Weiss,Stumpel,Dvorak, Brett Mclean, Salei, Vanryn are all very solid players. Point was that the are some terrible teams in the west like CLB and PHX who will make it impossible for a team like Florida to be worse.

But this is coming from a MOD who thinks Philly will be the worst team in the east this season. I think im going to sig this and put it up just to show how foolish a statement it was when people look back on it.

If you would like to make my statement your sig, feel free, i stand by it. Now im not saying the Flyers will be the worst team in the East, but they will not come close to the playoffs and they wont be good.

The additions they made are nice, yes. Briere is very good, Hartnall is pretty good,Lupul is decent, and i do like Timmonen. Gagne and Knuble are also very good players.

But they dont have 4 good lines. Not close. The third and fourth lines will be bad. The second line is shaky. The Gagne/Briere/Knuble line will be sweet. 1 line aint gunna cut it.

The D is bad. Timmonen is the only decent defender. Pitkanen was good but he is gone. You can look at their list of defenseman, and frankly, they suck.

Biron is not the goalie he used to be. Nittyamaki put up an impressive 9-29 record last year. Their goalies are also shaky.

They play in a divion with New Jersey, New York Rangers and Pittsburgh. They will not put up a good record vs. those 3 teams. Hell the Islanders made the playoffs even. Thats 4 divisional playoff opponets.

The Bruins will prolly be bad. I still think the Islanders will be better. The Caps have Ovechkin who alone makes them better, and Backstrom could also be great. What on the Flyers makes you think they will be better than bad?

No you said the only team that will be worse then the Panthers is the Flyers, which in my understanding would mean that yes you are implying the Flyers WILL be the worst team in the East next season. Nothing shaky with a Hartnell/Carter/Kapenen second line. Also dont see how you can say the 3rd line will be bad when you have possibly 2 good young players in Upshall and Richards playing on it. Regardless, hardly any teams have 4 good lines and the ones who do are usually elite or right at the top. They will obviously be top line reliant and lots of teams are and theres nothing wrong with that when you have 2 talents like Briere and Gagne.

Timmonen is the only decent defender? Jason Smith is not decent? Braydon coburn or Hatcher are not decent? Hatcher might have a bad contract but the guy is still decent. Lasse Kukonen is also solid but im not expecting you to know guys like him seeing you think this team will be the worst in the East.

Biron isnt the goalie he once was? He put up a +.900 sv % in 35 games last year with what you call a terrible defence. That doesnt sound like shaky to me.

So there divison might be the tough doesnt in hockey, this doesnt automatically mean they will suffer because of it. This same division was good last year and im sure you would have predicted the Isles to do bad against Pitts,NJ and NYR before the season and lookie who, they made the playoffs. Thank you for trying to read the future and say they will not do well against there division rivals.

The caps have Ovechkin that means they will be better then the Flyers. Hmm great logic. Flyers have a balanced offense (Gagne, Briere,Carter,Hartnell,Knuble) are all very capable forwards. They are a very physical team with a very solid goalie, even though your out to lunch in calling him shaky (never knew a goalie with a sv % .900 was considered "shaky".)

I never said they would be good or bad, but for you to think they will be the worst team in the eastern conference, in my opinion is laughable. Almost as laughable as saying they will be the only team worse then Florida. Ill be happy to remind you when Florida and Philly are doing alot better then bottomfeeding next season.

False. He'll say it is but come back another year.

Sidney Crosby will suffer a career ending injury this season. After the news is released, all Penguin fans will commit suicide.

I'm going to bring back the Philly debate, I wasn't around when it was discussed...

IMO, they're a wildcard. They have some good players, and a bunch of young players looking to make an impact. If the Flyers want to be successful, their young studs need to stand out, including guys like Carter, Richards, Umberger, Upshall, Poltuny and Lupul. We know guys like Briere and Gagne are going to produce, their secondary players will need to step it up, and I'm looking at Kapanen (who has struggled the past few seasons) to play a vital role on one of the later lines.

On the backend, again, they need youngsters Cobourn, Kukkonen, Parent and Picard to make a difference. They have two dependable top defenseman in Timmonen and Smith, and a couple solid depth players in Gauthier and Rathje.

The Flyers are ready to breakout after an ugly season in the basement. Their young players struggled at times. This team could go either way. They could make a push for a playoff run if their young players contribute like they're capable of doing, or miss the playoffs.

One thing is for certain, this team is looking damn good for the future.

Agreed with everything you said. I think they'll be a great team if they're healthy and the youngsters play to their expectations.

Oof. I'll go true, mainly because the Sharks won't be relying on him to score a ton of goals.

False

The NHL will have to deal with another act of on-ice violence like the Simon incident or Janssen on Kaberle check, resulting in another long suspension.
