Canucks looking to Buy NBA Team

Post#1 » by MAS » Wed Feb 16, 2011 4:00 am

They're getting a little cocky over there. First the Olympics, then the Canucks are 1st in the NHL. Now they wanna try and get the NBA working again, if they do they better get proper management.

Good, I hope they get a team. Poor ownership was the problem in the past and if Aquilini is really serious about this i'm sure he'll have no problem making a NBA team in Vancouver work.

People have to realize that the NBA fan base in western Canada has grown a ton over the past 10 years.

They should try for a baseball team. Most of their players come from Vancouver/British Columbia.

But people have to realize that most players don't wanna play in Canada. Especially Vancouver. I had no problem with Vancouver having a team. They did have problems with bad draft picks, not getting the no.1 pick. Steve Francis forcing a trade, Mike Bibby was sad when he got drafted by them. Doug West who was on a horrid Timberwolves team & when they were finally winning, West got traded to Vancouver who did nothing but lose & turned alcoholic. If the Sonics return just travel to Seattle instead of wanting another team in Vancouver.

Too bad nobody suggested Vancouver that before the Expos moved. Anywhere was better than DC which failed twice now thrice. Too bad they couldn't have snatched up 1 of the florida teams, people don't support the marlins unless they're in the world series.

I want another Canadian NBA team so bad. If any team comes over to Vancouver I will start supporting them 100%, just as much as the Raptors. Okay, maybe 5% less.

Hopefully they get a logo/jersey change.
