LET'S GO PREDS!!!!!!!!!!!

A big **** you to the NHL for not having a single game of the Predators/Ducks series on VS or NBC. Blah, blah, blah, ratings I know. They really need to figure out how to get as many of these games on as they can or at least spread them out evenly. Every series has at least four games on NBC or VS except for the Lightning/Penguins which has two and the Ducks/Preds which gets screwed with none.

Well, this will probably be the final year we see an uneven distribution like this since the TV contract is up for renewal. I'm more surprised that Lightning-Penguins isn't on national TV more. I know Crosby and Malkin are out, but the Pens still have a huge national following and the Lightning have some of the most underappreciated stars in the NHL.

Comcast, ESPN and Turner are all bidding for the NHL next year. Comcast has done an unreal job this year with their coverage, but there aren't enough outlets for the playoffs. ESPN wants the NHL back badly and wants to put games solely on ESPN2 and maybe put the SCF on ABC, Turner wants more sports on TruTV. If the NHL can find a compromise with Comcast and ESPN, that'd be the best way to go. NBA has games on ESPN and Turner, if the NHL can get a similar deal where they can keep NBC/Versus while putting games on ESPN2, that'd be awesome. But that probably won't happen, unfortunately. The important thing to know in all of this is that whatever deal ESPN or Turner offer up, Comcast can match it.

Comcast is even worse than VS unless there are some channels that work with Comcast that I would get that I don't know about.

Comcast now owns Versus, which I believe is undergoing a rebranding once the season ends (another sign they're serious about keeping the NHL). What I'm not sure about is if a network like USA still falls under the same Comcast umbrella that NBC and Versus do now. That would be another outlet for playoff games at the very least.

very nice looking thread. Boston/Montreal almost has to go 7 grueling games, right?

I'm definitely growing a bit concerned for my Wings. No Hank game 1, Kronwall questionable, we've been sluggish of late and Phoenix was tough last year. I am not looking forward to Shane Doan hitting everything that moves

Interesting. I'm gunning for Hayden Panettiere.

WhatIfSports.com did a simulation of the Playoffs 1,001 times and came up with these results.

Conference Finals:

East: (3) Bruins @ (2) Flyers - Bruins win series 4-2

West: (5) Predators @ (1) Canucks - Canucks win series 4-3

Stanley Cup Finals: (3) Bruins @ (1) Canucks - Bruins win series 4-3

I said Caps over Canucks before the season started, no real reason to switch from that now.

The Coyotes power play looks like the Predators power play, which isn't good.

Its been awful. Detroit really turned it on in the second. Might have just thrown the knockout punch for tonight as well

I picked them before the season. They had to play to my level of expectation.
