Offical 2011 World Championship Thread

The tourney taking place in Slovakia this year and the first game takes place tomorrow. For those of us who's teams aren't in the playoffs this is a chance for us to watch some of our favorite players and just watch some good hockey.

The Czech Republic are the defending champs and they've got a pretty strong team again this year.

Here's the breakdown of the groups and the power rankings going into the tourney:

Canada

Sweden
USA
Norway
Austria

Finland
Czech Rep.

Wow Norway beat Sweden what an upset, that gives the US a good shot at advancing now.

The young guns are getting it done for Canada right now. Jeff Skinner has been great through 2 games.

Great game between Canada and the US today and it was even better because Eberle scored the game winner.

And Finland blows out Sweden in the final. I really thought it was going to be a great game, but I guess I was wrong.
