Wisniewski to Columbus - 6/33

Wisniewski makes out nicely with a cap hit of $5.5M. He's obviously coming off a huge season but that's a lotta cash.

He's a 3.5-4mil guy, Columbus overpaid by quite a lot.

Columbus overpaid big time. I like that they're trying to make themselves into a playoff team, but overpaying for a guy who might have just overachieved for a season is a mistake.

May be the worst contract of the day. Wisniewski ain't that special.

Jovo's is worse, simply due to age and the fact that he is only a force in one of three zones on the ice nowadays.

I wouldn't say it's a massive overpayment, but I think he should've got around 4.5. I watched Wiz for half the year and I really wish that Montreal kept him instead of Markov, to be honest. He's gritty and he has a helluva shot. And he's actually a lot better on defense than I expected. Has some boneheaded turnovers every once in a while but I wish the Habs kept him.

To say he overachieved last season would be, ironically, a huge understatement.

Some would call it hitting his prime. Which he did. I could easily see him hitting that number again, playing with Nash and Carter and getting the bulk of PP time.
